Wajonata Sumba

My family of 5 is from Texas, USA. We have spent many years living in Central Java. 2020 we moved back to Texas and had been long awaiting an adventure trip to Sumba. We spent high dollar in west Sumba and wanted to go low key in east sumba. Yes the villa is simple but the beach and local finishing/sea farming village was amazing. Shirli who lives on site is a true blessing. We left feeling like family! Hope to be back. Godspeed.

We booked the simple bungalow but were lucky to get the deluxe bungalow🙏- with a beautiful outdoor bathroom Very confortable to relax the 2 days we stayed :) The manager always smiling and doing a great job. 💯 recommended ☺️

Exceptional resort with wonderful staff, they really do everything to make sure the guest has a wonderful experience. As a nature lover I like to travel off the beaten track, and the location of this resort provided just what I was looking for, a true authentic experience in the middle of Indonesian Nature, there are wonderful beaches near the resort like Praibakal, Watuparunu, Wisata.. I rented a scooter and spent days at the different beaches, as well as visiting the waterfalls and other cultural sites. Location apart the bungalow was super comfortable and with a wonderful view of the ocean, in front it is great to use the kayak and paddle near the reef where you can swim and snorkel. The staff experience exceeded my expectations, they make sure the guest has a wonderful experience and check every now and then if you need something. The food was very good, and in generous portions. My experience here was very good and just what I was looking for- I recommend. Next time I want to stay longer - The owner and the two ladies working there helped me to give me all the information about the area and they provided me a telescope to watch the stars at night which was super

Nothing, it’s paradise here

I have great time during my stay in this resort. The place is still isolated and wild nature as per explain by the owner before I came to this place. It's correct place to whom that looking for peace and quite place. The road to go to this place is little bit tricky, from main road to the resort there is no black top road. It's nice experience for me, it's like off-road tour with Savana view along the road. I was stay in gazebo with beautiful view direct to the sea. Lovely staff that ready to help and full service. Meals are serve in the gazebo. There are some activities equipments that I can use for free such as kayak and paddle provide by the staff. I rented motorbike from the resort to visit some interesting places around the area. It's really a good and beautiful memories to visit and stay in this resort. I could stay away for a while from the busy, noise and hectic city. I definitely will come back to this place, thank for the hospitality during my stay.

The bungalow is confortable and spacious, gazebo looks great too. The area is calm, and ideal for rest. Staff is helpful.They bring our meals in the room. They serve Indonesian dishes. Last day we can get fresh fish from locals and staff make it grill on a handmade barbecue in the garden. The path to access the hotel is not paved , but the surroundings are very exotic. Access to the beach is direct, we can play along with kayak.

There is no AC yet, electricity is powered with solar panel, but the fan was enough.

the road getting from the main road was ridiculous it splits up in all directions no signs anywhere if it wasn’t for some local kids I would still be going in circles even leaving is just as bad. next there is no wifi as advertised on bookings also breakfast was a joke packet indomie with a egg and one coffee no fruit

Everything was very nice from food ( it was best we had on the island) to accompdation
