Ganja Hotel

This hotel will surely appeal to those looking for a retro look. It has all you need, relatively big rooms, is clean, it is situated in a perfect, very central location, has a big parking. The breakfast was good and the attached restaurant, really good. Don't expect modern furniture or decor, but the beds are comfortable and the room clean. Last but not least, it is really good value for money

For an hotel and restaurant of this level, it would be nice to have an English version of the restaurant menu, and some waiters who speak a bit of English.

In Ganja Hotel you feel like you went back to the Soviet times! 🙂 I really recommended to travellers who would like to experience something different than the standard hotels! Besides that we found the rooms very clean, the breakfast was also Ok (except there was no real coffee). The staff didn't speak English, but they were helpful, so we understood each other. The location of the hotel was perfect, in the city center and there was also a protected parking place.

This is a Soviet-era hotel which is evident the moment you enter. The Stalinist building has high ceilings, dark corridors, grand staircases and relatively big rooms. The hotel still uses a conventional lock and key system and the single room comes with a queen bed and is pretty big. The hotel staff speak broken English which is enough to help you out. Early check-in and late check-out are entertained. WI-fi is good enough to stream Netflix. Breakfast is below average but it's free. The location is excellent which makes everything within walking distance.

Located in Central Ganja. Doors are locked at midnight. 60 Manat for a room, no discount even though we stayed from 5:30am for a few hours only. Very poor breakfast, poor quality, not fresh food. Restaurant staff were nice though.

Ganja Hotel lies in the very Center of Ganja, opposite the townhall and not far away from the theatre. It is rather dark inside due to the dark wood used for decoration and the heavy curtains. The staircase is of the same type. My room was big but not nice at all. It definitely needed to be refurbished. The view from there opened into an enormous backyard with parking lots. The man at the reception seemed to be left over from past times, too. The restaurant offers quick service and traditional Azerbaidjan meals. There is also a bar. The surroundings of the hotel are interesting. Apart from the above mentioned sights there are an important old mosque and a hamam nearby. It was nice to walk around there and into the city at night. I have given three stars to this hotel only due to its proximity to the sights.

Was there two nights in late June 2018. The hotel location is great (close to the caravanserai, which is undergoing renovation). When you walk out of the hotel, there is a mall up the street to the left. The square across the street from the hotel is great for jogging. And there is a matrushka/bus station across the street to the right. I didn't see any one who spoke English, but I can manage with my Turkish. Room and bathroom were clean, the breakfast was Ok (have seen better, have seen worse). One caveat, if you are an early riser (like going to jog at 5:30 AM), you will find that the hotel entrance is locked. There will be someone in the Reception area who can open the front door for you (you may catch the employee sleeping in the room to the left of the Reception office). All in all, if I am ever in Ganja again, I will certainly consider going back to this hotel. Good value, reasonable service, great location.

In reception You can feel past glory… Soviet stalinistic architecture, impressive interiors. Staff was very helpful, some of them speak good english (not like me :)). My room was a bit tired, but view from balcony was to old caravanseray and to Town Hall square. In bathroom were some error with bathhub, but no big deal. Room was clean, large enough and comfortable bed. Breakfast was a little disappointing and very bad coffee…

I've lived in Azerbaijan for 1.5 years and traveled to many regional cities - Mingachevir, Ganja (last year, at a different hotel) and Lankaran. This is by far the worst. First of all, ALL of the rooms are smoking rooms. I have allergic asthma and couldn't breathe (or sleep) the entire night, even with inhalers. I asked to move and moved twice to new rooms, but it appeared all of the rooms were actually smoker-friendly, so there was no point. The shower was cold. The main bathrooms next to the restaurant - where you can get a very meager breakfast, where a staff member will bring you tea without asking but not take your plates when you are done, preferring instead to pay attention only to their phones - have no toilet paper. You would think at a hotel, they would make a point of providing toilet paper, but you would be wrong. This was my first time coming to the Ganja Hotel, and I chose it because it is around the corner from the place I will regularly be visiting for work. It's not worth it, even for the reasonably low price. I'd rather stay in a nicer hotel that's more expensive and/or further away. Even the budget hotels I stayed in in Mingachevir and Lankaran were MUCH better than this. The only redeeming quality of this hotel is that the wi-ri is pretty good.
