--- 🌟 Villa Locanda – A Hidden Gem on the Italian Riviera From the moment we arrived at Villa Locanda, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and hospitality. The hosts made us feel right at home, generously offering thoughtful local tips that helped shape an unforgettable stay. Each morning began with a delightful breakfast featuring homemade bread and pastries — the banana bread was a standout, rich and flavorful. It was the kind of meal that makes you linger at the table just a bit longer. One of the highlights was the scenic walk to Bogliasco, a charming coastal village with picturesque views and a relaxed vibe. Also, the villa is perfectly situated near the enchanting Passeggiata Anita Garibaldi, a breathtaking promenade that hugs the cliffs above the Ligurian Sea. It’s the perfect spot for a sunset stroll or a romantic evening walk. Villa Locanda is more than just a place to stay — it’s a place to slow down, savor local delights, and enjoy the beauty of the region through the eyes of those who know it best.

The Villa has just few rooms, so it feels cozy. Hospitality has been great. You can get lots of useful advice the owners at any moment. The owner also helped me with parking, which is not easy (esp. if you come in a bigger /longer car). Parking garage in the end is a place is of a proper size, yet the narrow access with 90 degrees turn may not be easy (parking on the street is possible, too, although it the road is steep and not particularly wide). Breakfast was really nice with a nice selection homemade cakes and other food. The Villa is located on a private street with a code, so the traffic is minimal. It is quiet. On the other hand, it is only 10 minutes walk to the train station and the seaside promenade (and another 15 min. to the port where you can find many local restaurants (can get very busy especially during weekends; if you can, book your table in advance). It is also only few steps to a local supermarket. The rooms are spacious with well functioning air conditioning and are comfortable. Overall, good location for a trip to other picturesque ligurian small towns and villages on the cost including Portofino, which is even nicer if you decide to get there by train and boat.

The price perhaps was a little high but on the other hand this depends when you book, which days, etc. And it is also true that what you get is a really high quality service from the owners, who you make you feel at home from the moment you arrive (the villa is actually local family business). So, in the end, nothing to complain. Also not a complaint but rather an advice: parking garage for the villa in the end is a place is of a proper size (1-2 cars), yet the narrow access with 90 degrees turn may not be easy; parking on the street is possible, too, although it the road is steep and not particularly wide. I am thinking now that that if you want to stay at the villa moderna, you may not need a car since Nervi is well connected by frequent trains to Genova and in the direction of Cinque Terre.

The hosts were exceptionally gracious and helpful, treating the guests like invited guests to their lovely home without being at all intrusive. The area around the house is peaceful, as of now filled with the scent of honeysuckle and the songs of blackbirds. Lovely breakfast. Easy walk to the beautiful seafront promenade. Plenty of restaurants and the train station within an easy walk. For a comfortable and casual stay in a non-touristy town on a beautiful coast, one cannot do better.

Our stay at this small family hotel was simply unforgettable and easily deserves a 10/10. From the moment we arrived, the owners made us feel incredibly welcome. They were unbelievably helpful, providing fantastic, spot-on recommendations for everything – the best local restaurants, hidden gems to visit, and practical tips on navigating the area. Their advice truly enhanced our trip! And the breakfast... Amazing! Waking up to homemade bread and delicious cakes each morning was such a treat and the perfect start to our day. If you're looking for genuine Italian hospitality, a warm atmosphere, and expert local knowledge, look no further. We cannot recommend this place highly enough!
