Hotel Jirisan Haetsal

The staff is really nice. Can't be located any better if you want to visit Hwaeomsa temple or hike to nogodan peak at Jirisan. The rooms are very spacious, bed is big and the bathroom is very nice. You have several restaurants right next to it, the bus stop is 2min away, and if you walk 5-10min down the road a 7eleven

The location, at the entrance to the Hwaeom-sa Buddhist Temple on the slope of Mr. Jiri is nationally famous, deservedly so. Our hotel room was situated beside a rushing stream, facing a verdant mountain. In the evening, sitting on the room balcony beneath the moon and stars, while sipping fine green tea produced from the local wild tea plants, it's impossible not to find quiet bliss. The hotel has one unique attraction: the owner, Mr. Jae So, is an internationally prominent artist, who crafts amazing designs out of traditional Korean paper. In the hotel lounge are to be seen some of his best work, and on many days it's possible to have a conversation with the artist himself.
