Large room. Friendly staff. Everything fine for what I needed.

They didn’t have my booking to hand to start with but that was quickly resolved. Room over bar and karaoke was fine for me but not everyone I expect.

Positives - This was a room only (no meals) which was perfect as such a central location with multiple food and drink options. Cost very reasonable for a 4 night stay. The room itself was nice, the bed extremely comfortable. The staff were extremely friendly, at check in which was in the busy back bar area, but we only bumped into a housekeeping by accident when going out (although we were asked if we needed anything by the friendly staff member). The room was nicely presented, lighting was good in the bedroom. Hospitality tray with tea and coffee, and pots of milk. Very large TV!

For three of our four nights stay there was extremely loud karaoke on - Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights. It was so loud the room was vibrating, and we couldn't hear the TV, in the end my partner and I had to put headphones on and listen to our own devices to drown out the sound. We expected noise being above a pub, but that was extreme and we hadn't been warned thee would karaoke directly under the room. Also he guest entrance was where the regulars would stand to smoke, so every time we left we were coughing and smoked out. Additional, Bathroom extractor fan was switched off at the wall No bath mats The bathroom window was painted shut and the bathroom was generally very prone to condensation, even on the walls and toilet roll, The storage furniture was not checked for being empty, previous guests medicine and old suitcase, Dirty loo brush, No heating at the start of the day, Only three working bulbs in the shaving mirror We just needed a base to stay to visit family, and have stayed above pubs before, we wee very disappointed unfortunately.

Very comfortable accommodation in a central location. The room was large, bright and very-very clean. Comfortable beds and, considering the central location, very quiet. Staff are very friendly and attentive. We even had a parking cone with our name awaiting our arrival (nice considerate touch). Thank you!

The sink in the bathroom didn't drain well and the shower temperature regulation was a bit temperamental. Everything else was more than perfect.
