Un hôtel historique magnifique. La chambre 403 est grande et très confortable. Le petit déjeuner est digne d’un très grand restaurant. Le personnel est remarquable, attentif et très serviable.

The hotel highly exceeded our expectations and I would give them 15 points out of 10 if I could. An old aristocratic house is converted to a very elegant and delicate mixture of classic beauty and modern comfort. It is located in front of a beautiful park, in a walking distance from many sightseeing spots. It is difficult to write about everything we loved as there is a lot to be said. But let's try: comfortable spacious room, that is very clean. The breakfast was a culinary experience every morning, in a stylish dining room, with different menu and extremely delicious dishes decorated so beautifully, like paintings, so you feel sorry to eat them. But one of the best things that we appreciated most was that unlike the big hotels, here you are treated very personally, like a valuable and special guest. Huge thank you to Mizuki-san, a very graceful lady, and to the entire team. Her kindness and attention made us feel like family, not just guests. Her advices to visit different places of interest and the instructions how to reach to them were of incredible help. She was ensuring that we have everything we needed during our stay in a very discreet manner and she surprised us with short notes in our room written in our language at the end of the day kindly asking how was our day. The whole staff was very kind, polite and supportive. We can speak a lot more about our 4 days stay as this was a fantastic experience. Excellent spacious rooms, breakfast spread was very elegant. The fireplace at night was the icing on the cake. Give Mizuki and the staff a raise, so welcoming and respectful.

Everything about this hotel was extraordinary!! The rooms, food, service, ambience, and location!!! It is elegant and off a lovely park making it quite with stunning views and yet in the center and easy to walk to many districts in Kyoto. Perfect in every way!!!

This hotel surpassed all our high expectations. The location in a quiet part of Kyoto, close to temples, gardens and historic Gion is ideal. The original building is exquisitely decorated and provides a number of comfortable and special hospitality options. Breakfast was a highlight as was a drink at the Madeira bar. Our room was spacious, well appointed and thoughtfully outfitted. It was a space that was very easy to relax in after a busy day touring beautiful Kyoto. In addition to all of the above, the highest praise must go to the staff. From the first greeting and throughout the entire stay the personalized attention we received was in itself a very special experience. Their attention to detail, without being intrusive, really focused on our enjoyment of the stay at the hotel and of Kyoto itself. Finally, a special thank you to Mizuki Osawa for all of her care and attention as our guest relations contact during our stay.

美しい建物と素晴らしいホスピタリティで大満足です。品格のあるホテルですのにおもてなしはまるで家族に迎えられるような温かみも感じられました。周辺はとても静かで人で賑わう京都の街中とは思えない落ち着きがありました。何度でも泊まりたいホテルです。

The hotel is beautiful and in a stunning location. We loved walking around the gardens, temples and historic roads. The attention to detail and comfort is superior. The chef was 5 star. Ms. Osawa made our stay unforgettable and we plan to return.

Location is beautifully set in a park, convenient yet quiet. Breakfast was in their gorgeous dining room. Not huge portions but multiple courses of fine food, which made us quite full at the end. Beautifully maintained artefacts and architectural details, representing the east-west blend of the Meiji-era. Very warm and kind service by Ms Tabata, who made us felt welcomed and took care of our every need.

Haha the "bar" could be opened for a bit longer...it was supposedly only open for 30 minutes in the evening. We did not end up visiting.
