Kyoto City Gardens Hotel

Super comfy beds and the useful free toiletries. The bedroom was a decent size and so were the beds. Great price and staff were very polite and friendly.

The bathroom is like a little plastic cubicle room within the bedroom and you have to step up to enter which if you're not paying attention means you stub your toes or step down awkwardly when entering and exiting.

Good location and they had umbrellas to borrow for the downpours!

Extremely uncomfortable stay. We booked for 2 adults and 2 kids. The hotel only provided two pillows and would not provide additional pillows for the kids even on request. This was very poor service. We had friends stay in a different hotel which provided additional pillows without issue. Wifi is only selectively available. We were unable to connect on the first night and was advised it’s because too many guests were connected. The hotel should have wifi capacity to accomodate all guests not just a few.

The room was small, cramped, badly configured. The only thing this hotel had going for it is its attentive staff.

Everything, except staff were delightful.

Very convenient. The hotel is opposite to Lawson and provide many tables on the 1st floor. The parking lot is next to the hotel good for people who rent a car. The triple room is big for us.

The location is not the best but it's fine to walk during cold.

The room was adequate and the location excellent for bus transport to attraction.

Staff were unhelpful. Told us on the morning of departure there were no taxis available and we would have to walk to train station. This was a lie. Plenty of taxis available. Not good service for two elderly ladies. Our taxi came booked thru UBER

I'm used to dormitories and still found this room really noisy.

The triple room was large with big beds by Japanese standards. Very clean. Satisfactory facilities.

Staff were a bit less involved compared to other hotels we stayed jn Japan. I asked for an extra pillow but was refused saying all the rooms were booked so they couldn't give me one extra pillow, which seemed a bit incredulous. Public bath was chargeable even for the guests of the hotel.
