Location, receptionist and value for money.

The door into the en-suite creaked LOUDLY. We were looking forward to a few relaxing drinks but ended up on our own in a room called the library. I had a G&T served in a white wine glass with no fruit?! Breakfast was very mediocre with no juices on offer.

Old style hotel rather than identical cookie cutter rooms. Breakfast was excellent and the staff was very good.

TRAFFIC! There is a one lane bridge that creates traffic backups. Parking is challenging, but to be fair, it's an old town.

"Historic beauty in the village of Slane"

All but one person was very friendly and helpful. The building is gorgeous and beautifully kept. The room was perfectly clean and nicely appointed. The beds and pillows were very comfortable.

Nothing not to like. Zero complaints.
