Don't believe what you read about this 25 year old place. It's a tired old 2 star charging high rates to international tourists. We were one of 5 to 6 guests. Locals paying $US 30 a night. Wifi yes. Heating - no. Hot water - yes Cracked bathroom sink yes. Staff were friendly with very basic cold breakfast. Eggs avail when you can locate a staff member. Location was good and reasonably safe area within $B10 taxi ride from centro. Think you could do better.

We Chose this hotel following the Good comments on tripadvisor, yet we are quite disappointed. Rooms are clean but not especially nice and specially not for a 60$ Fee, we had by far better breakfasts in cheaper places. Only apples and bananas that looked made of plastic. Moreover, it is far away from the interesting places in town. Internet works well though... I would only recommend it, should the room cost 30-35$

The location of this hotel is a bit far from the travel agencies and the main shopping area. I spent my first two nights in La Paz here and wish I hadn't. I have to come back from town before dark as I am a solo female traveller. Around this area there is not a lot to eat. The pollo Copacabana branch is supposed to be the best but I wasn't up for dinner at a chain. The Peruvian restaurant 2 doors down was very pricey and average. The Chifa across from the Pollo Copacabana was surprisingly good. The room at this Hotel was beautiful and clean. Breakfast was mostly continental but the cakes did not seem fresh. The reception did not speak much English but they were ok. All in all I will not return as I have my heart set on another hotel in town.

A group of 9 went to La Paz Bolivia to do mission work. 3 of us stayed at this Hotel and we cannot praise them enough for their services and staff. Marcelo and his crew, they are top of the Line!!! We had rooms in the 7th floor with an incredible view. One of us got very sick and we ask for help with water in the late night hours, the night staff not only came bringing a thermos with hot water, but also the owner, Marcelo’s Mom Teresa came to assist us and offer to take the sick person to the closer hospital if needed. We left this member of our team in great hands for a couple of days, while we went to Los Yungas to visit and do donations for a local orphanage. They send soup and visited her while we were gone. During our stay, we looked forward to Bolivian breakfast each morning; loved the rollo de queso and fresh fruit and yogurt. The breakfast room has incredible view. Let me suggest the best recipe for coffee. Put a couple of teaspoons of instant coffee, then pour half cup of hot milk (white push button serving carafe) then fill it up with hot water. To me this was the Best recipe to face the cold winter days (30 degrees). Another plus of this hotel was the privacy and also the security. What a sense of relief to leave all your valuables in your room and do not worry about it. Priceless!!! Because of our tight schedule, packed with activities, we were happily surprised that you could take warm or hot showers any time of the day or night. The hotel is located next to a bank a half block from a laundry mat. Transportation to downtown and other areas are available in front of the hotel or crossing the street (Intendencia). Local market a block away, Laikakota, an area to stroll and walk is at walking distance. We highly recommend this hotel…they always give 5 star service.

I apologize for such a delayed review. We visited Bolivia in October 2013. The hotel is very nice, located in a great area. It is just 2 min walk to the main stop for the touristic bus. There was also the view of the stadium in our room. But the most pleasant part of our stay was the staff. Marcelo provided an excellent service to us. He went above and beyond to fulfill any of our requests. We travel all over the world and I can guarantee you that in this hotel you will feel very welcomed. Highly recommended!
