Southern Inn & Suites Lamesa

Was in Lamesa for business. I was told about This motel. Went to check it out. Rooms are clean. The grounds are clean. This motel is very well managed. Beds are comfortable Bathrooms clean. It is locally owned and the staff is great. I went to get coffee in the morning and the breakfast area was nice and clean. There were 2 employees there and they were constantly doing something. Wiping the breakfast area to make sure it always stays clean. They have a nice outdoor patio area. It’s just a great little place to stay. The carpets might need a little cleaning but I’m sure it’s because they have oil fuel workers stay there and it’s hard to keep carpets clean. But that is no deal breaker for me. They have a big breakfast and sometimes a dinner. I would much rather give my business to a place like this than a big hotel I will stay here again and do recommend it.

Since Southern Inn & Suites’ inception, my husband and I have stayed at this place for two years while visiting a family member. After a year or so, we noticed various types of bugs and insects were invading the hotel rooms, particularly during the Spring and Summer months. Since we were regulars, it was not uncommon for the hotel staff to give my husband insect spray and a broom to combat the problems we were facing every time we checked in. However, the bugs and insects problem became unmanageable. We told the manager, nothing was done. We sent twenty pictures to the owner -nothing was done. So we part ways. Recently, I saw an advertisement that Southern Inn & Suites in LaMesa, Texas was under a new management. So I booked a room for June 8 – 9, 2019. I experienced same problem - bugs crawling everywhere. Next morning, I told the check- out clerk. Next day my credit card had an extra charge $8.39. When I contacted the manager, she stated I left black stuff on two of their white towels. Because I complained about the bugs, this manager retaliated and charged me for towels. L. Anderson 6/11/19

I normally stay elsewhere in town and since this location had joined the Chamber I elected to give this location a try. Pleasantly surprised, very clean rooms and grounds. Price was very reasonable, staff was exceptionally polite and helpful. Breakfast was a great additional treat in flavor and variety. Only unusual thing was no Kleenex to save money but just used toilet paper. Thanks taking care of your business. Retired Chef Gene

Highly recommended, brand new and friendly staff. Breakfast and dinner was complementary. We liked the large room and got a lot of space which could acommendate up to 4 persons. Swimming pool was a bit cold.

We rented the entire hotel for a family reunion that was in town, when we arrived the pool was disgusting with trash and cigarette buds. We asked about cleaning and they said they would get someone out the next day, they knew the entire motel had been booked and with temperatures into the 100's we would want to use the pool. They did come out and clean the pool on Saturday but we got back late after the reunion and the hotel refused to keep the pool open any later than 10pm, even though we were not able to use the pool the day of our arrival. They were completely sold out due to the reunion so it wasn't like they would get complaints as everyone there was family. They did not prepare in advance by having the pool clean and did not care to make any accommodation to please their guests the night before. Rest assure next reunion we will take our business somewhere else where a sold out hotel is appreciated by the Manager!

What to say other than a very fine place to spend 1 night or several nights. This place has all the amenities and class of a 4 star hotel. It may be new which makes it easy to maintain. I have stayed in many motels and hotels over the years. This one be in my top ten list for sure. I hope to spot by here sometime in the future.

We stopped here Halloween night looking for a comfortable bed to rest our heads. What a treat! Dinner of homemade chili and cornbread was being served. The front desk clerk was so attentive. The king room was large and comfortable. The only thing missing were washcloths. Breakfast the following morning was delightful. We will stay here again. Thank you Carla and staff.

We found this place online and read all the good reviews. I always prefer to spend my money in a small business rather than a big chain. It is obvious that hospitality and Cleanliness is on top of their priorities. This place is run by good people who care about guests. Breakfast is AWESOME. So much better than other hotels. We came to eat about 15 min before it shuts down, and so did another family. When staff noticed they replenished anything they thought we would need. The lady made fresh waffle batter for us and it was so much better than other hotels. The pool was closed due to a sand storm but you can tell the have been cleaning a lot b cause of the cleanliness around the building. We checked in late at night and I was somewhat lost so I called and the front desk person gave me directions. Bottom line: this place is great!

We were pleasantly surprised by our stay at this inexpensive motel. It was about 1/3 less than the Best Western in town. Although there were some long term workers staying there, everything was quiet. The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable and the space was roomy. Our room had a mini frig, coffee pot, microwave, tv, hair dryer' free wifi, and good air conditioner. The motel is fairly new and had on outdoor seating area near the pool. They provided a simple supper and breakfast. Both were adequate for our needs. This is a one story motel.

This place was just awesome. You get so used to having to stay in dumps or places that you just wish you'd have kept on going, but this place was like a haven from the road. Very comfortable room, very roomy, flat screen tv with an excellent television line up, large sink area, clean, modern, I just can't say enough about this place. They were having fish and sandwiches and french fries for DINNER, complimentary, and then they had a hot breakfast with potatoes and eggs, very friendly staff, plenty of room to park a semi truck, it was HOT out, the ac worked great, bed was very comfortable, very accommodating stay. If we get this way again we will for sure stay here again. Also, the price was very reasonable.............
