Southern Inn & Suites Lamesa

From my prior research and the most current reviews read, I felt fairly confident that we would have a good stay. What I was not expecting was such a nice, comfortable, well kept, well operated motel (regardless of city size or location). Every box is checked here. Clean rooms, great staff & amenities, good free breakfast (and dinner!) We originally booked a single night on our way to New Mexico. However, this place was so nice in-fact, that we checked out of our New Mexico Hotel one day early in favor of booking with (Southern Inn & Suites - Lamesa) on our return trip. We Travel to NM multiple times per year and have found a new temporary "home away from home"...

This is a very nice motel. The rooms are clean and spacious, the bed is comfy, the AC is cold, the water is hot and the staff is great! The complimentary dinner was basic and good. There was an entree and 3 sides. The hot breakfast is tasty, as well. Pets are welcome for a $10 one time fee. Will definitely stay here again.

Clean rooms, comfortable and reason pricing. American owned is a bonus. Breakfast was very good. Employees made us feel welcome and will stay at other hotels owned by this company in Texas. Only issue was the cable options - we wanted to watch the NFR final go round on CBS Sports. Had ESPN channels but didn't have the "sports" package like we have at home. Employee tried her best to get it for us - even called the owner to ask. Great customer service!

A warm welcome from Kellie Leatherwood when we arrived. She had a good sense of humour. A good sized clean room for the night and lovely soft white towels. We watched the eclipse from the back of the motel and Kellie will never again be able to say she has never seen an eclipse, after a good night's sleep we had a good breakfast and the morning staff were friendly too but I did not get their names. The fastest internet connection I have seen in three weeks in the U.S. Outdoor pool.

I was quite happy with my stay at the Southern Inn and Suites. The staff was very helpful and friendly, my room was very nice and large, amenities were plentiful and the hot breakfast was hot and delicious. The only problem was their coffee cups leak, both in the rooms and the dining area. They are aware of that and are in the process of changing cups. Only problem I had was finding the place. My GPS took me into Lamesa, to about 1617 N Lubbock highway (US 87.) But there was no hotel there. I called them and she kept telling me to go north, but I thought I was all ready north. She mentioned a Wal-Mart (which I hadn't seen coming into town,) So I decided to go back north. I finally saw the WM and, 1/4 mile further, was the Southern Inn, with a big old 1617 on the front. So, it seems there is an address confusion issue. In town, I WAS in the 1600 block of the street, (17th was right there,) but it may be that they call the road in town, "The Lubbock Highway," while the road north of town is "U.S 87." Very confusing, but look for the Southern Inn NORTH of Lamesa, before you pass Wall Mart (or after, if you're headed north. I came down from Lubbock.)

We had a large group (the whole motel) stay here and the staff and accommodations could not have been better. They went above and beyond to take care of us!!! The pool area and patio with the TV was great for our team meetings.

I made a reservation for my elderly mother and older sister to stay there midway during a road trip between Albuquerque and San Antonio Mexico. My mother has great difficulty ambulating and I specifically not only reserved a room on the first floor with handicapped facilities but I also spoke to Kelly and one other female at the front desk once I made the online reservation to make sure that they understood we need to have a handicap access room on the first floor. I was sure that the bathroom is handicap access and that while not lower than a standard bed, the room with two queen size beds that I reserved did not have beds that were any higher than standard beds. My sister called to tell me that not only did they not have a room with two queen size beds and handicapped access as I had specifically reserved; The only room they had was one with one queen size bed and the bed was in fact higher than most beds, making it extremely difficult for my mother to get into it. The room did have a handicap access bathroom but the hotel property in general was quite shabby and out of date and could only be described as a very cheap place to spend the night. There were young people on the same for creating quite a ruckus which made it difficult for my mother and sister to sleep. The property looks nothing like the nice photos which are published on the website and I would never recommend that anyone stay there.

What a deal! Spacious rooms, great beds and pillows and you can't beat the friendly staff! BBQ area on two covered patios. Outdoor TV also by the outdoor pool. New hotel in Lamest going towards Lubbock on Hwy 87 just past walmart.
