Potawatomi Inn & Cabins

Room was small but charming. Very clean. Shower worked well and there were plenty of clean towels. Loved the spacious dining hall and buffet breakfast.

Mattress was way too soft. Kept having to fight to just roll over.

The bed was very uncomfortable, and the worst thing was the cockroaches

The bedroom was very cozy and had good size beds. There also was a fridges, microwave, and a second sink outside of the bathroom in the room that made it amazing in the morning.

During our stay the craft rom was supposed to open at 4pm. We went and confirmed with someone in the shop and then come 4pm the craft room did not open. A little bummed since we have an artist in the group but we were able to go swimming earlier instead.

The property itself is beautiful

My curtains had blood on them, didn’t see it until I closed them on the third day of our 4 day stay Asked for a tub a month ahead of time didn’t get it.

There have been several additions since it was first built in the mid 1920s. I stayed in the original section, which was my desire. Lake James is beautiful and I enjoyed walking on the trails and swinging on the swings. There are a number of places for people to gather, and a lovely library. There's also a swimming pool if the kids aren't already waterlogged from the lake. I'll stay here again if I'm passing through the area!

Because it's located in the state park, there was an additional $15 entrance fee, which Booking.com didn't disclose. The dining area only had buffet style for both breakfast and dinner, and the café was only open for a few afternoon hours. If you stay in the historic rooms, bring an extension cord so you can use the coffee maker besides in the bathroom. The bathroom is very small and some would have difficulty.

The bed was comfortable and the room was as described. Having an ice machine nearby on the 2nd floor was handy since the room had no refrigerator to keep things cool.

The room on the 2nd floor was warm and the AC system was extremely loud. The windows had screens but were missing window cranks to open them. The swimming pool temperature was perfect but there were no towels available at the pool area (I brought a towel from my room)
