Hotel Bellevue - Traditional Swiss Hideaway

Beautiful property with outstanding views

Very small size

If you have a room with a view, this hotel is wonderful! The views are spectacular and make up for the tiny rooms with single beds

If you get a room facing the back, it feels overpriced for what you get — a tiny space with a single dorm-style bed and a view of another building or the street. Since the price difference to rooms with views is barely noticeable, they really should lower the rate for the back-facing rooms.

The view

The hotel itself is nice, but I strongly advise confirming your booking carefully before traveling. I had reserved and prepaid for two nights, yet upon arrival (after a 7-hour drive and reaching the car-free village), I was informed that the room I booked was only available for one night. I was told this was because I had booked the “last available room,” and the hotel suggested canceling my reservation entirely. Given the circumstances, I stayed for the first night but had to cancel the second as the alternative room offered was not the same category — and the view, which is what I had paid for, was not included. This situation disrupted my holiday and I only received a partial refund for my stay . While the property itself is pleasant and Switzerland’s views are stunning everywhere, this experience left me disappointed. My recommendation is to book well in advance and reconfirm your reservation directly with the hotel to avoid similar issues if you had to book this hotel .

THE VIEW FROM THE BALCONY!!!

No coffee maker in room. Breakfast was very well presented but we prefer scrambled eggs, bacon ,sausage and waffles and syrup.

Our room had a big balcony with a view of the Jungfrau! Good breakfast included and we ate a few nights at the restaurant which was great. The hotel drove us with our bags to/from the train. Many eating options in Wengen, and a good base for exploring the region by train or cable car. Both a pro and a con: the hotel is not in the town centre, it's a 10 minute walk away.

It felt like being at home. Balcony in every room with beautiful views of the Lauterbrunnen Valley. Old authentic building but updated and clean. The people were lovely and the food was great

The pillows were too stiff but they had second small pillows you could use.

Great views-our room did not face the valley but for meals and in a study area the view was super. Breakfast buffet was delicious and staff were wonderful.
