"It’s our third stay here and we really like it."

Lovely comfortable room, located well for a family reunion, peaceful and warm.

"Nice enough place but wouldn't rush back"

A pretty pub in lovely countryside with cosy bar/restaurant. Very well maintained and pretty gardens.

Bedrooms are in a converted barn/ outbuildings so we just didn't particularly like being on the ground floor - a bit cold and poor soundproofing. A group of cyclists were sat outside our bedroom window early Sunday morning! While finishing our tasty breakfast the staff began hoovering.

"Disappointing stay in some respects..."

Staff were not particularly friendly or welcoming. The room was comfortable and clean with modern furnishings but quite small. En-suite was in need of refurbishment. It was pleasant to relax in the courtyard. Breakfast was good but service was slow.

Our room was near the parking area at the beginning of the courtyard which meant guests had to pass by our room as they came and went. This meant they could see directly into our room and we woken by conversations late in the evening. The en-suite had mould around the shower unit and the toilet seat was old and had marks on it which made it seem that it hadn't been cleaned. We had to call a member of staff to clean it. On our second day service was very slow and slightly chaotic at breakfast as they seemed to be understaffed. We waited 45 minutes.

"Excellent find worth a visit goid base for Highclere Castle"

The decor and the staff. Food was excellent.

I would have liked different chairs near the bar not the tall table and stalls not at all relaxing.
