Both breakfasts and evening meals were excellent. Staff were generally friendly and responded quickly to requests for further items for our room.

The inaccuracy of the bill for an evening meal and lack of apology for the error from one staff member. It detracted from the overall experience of the stay. How about a proper chain for the basin plug and check for a supply of soap?

Well converted to a good standard. Still had much of its charm.

Great place to stay if you’re visiting Highclere Castle. Rooms are excellent with underfloor heating in the bathroom. Staff friendly and food excellent

A comfortable and well appointed room and bathroom. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Convivial atmosphere. Dinner and breakfast were delicious. Nice walks in the surrounding area and interesting places to visit, eg. Sandham Memorial Chapel.

We lived the friendliness of the front of house staff and the quality of the food.

The room wasn’t ready for 90 minutes upon arrival at 3pm so we had to sit in the car with our dogs after a long journey until 4.30 when we just wanted to unpack and have a cuppa in the room. And then again on day 2, the room wasn’t ready after our day out at 4.15 with no apology but explained the cleaner was alone as her colleague was on holiday. TBH, not our problem, an apology would have meant more than an excuse!

Great place and atmosphere. Dinner and breakfast were excellent. Welcoming and helpful staff.
