Izamal Plaza

Huge room in a lovely hotel right on the main square. The roof top and terrace spaces were wonderful to relax while having a great view of the convent. Super friendly and helpful staff and very clean space.

They had drained the pool for deep cleaning the day we were there so we were unable to swim after a hot and sweaty day of exploring the city. I appreciate the care of the space, but was disapointed we wouldn't swim.

We were very happy with our stay. It is right in the middle of town and close to all the places you want to visit in Izamal. Our room was huge and very comfortable with a nice couch. We got to meet the owner and she was very charming. Ana and Anil were helpful also. Good for a quick stay in Izamal.

They had instant coffee which was OK. There is an Oxxo down the block to go buy coffee.

Location, helpful staff, colonial features, large rooms

We loved this hotel, which is beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The beds are comfortable, bottled water is provided, and despite a language barrier, all staff treated us very well and worked hard to ensure all of our needs were met. The location is excellent; you can walk everywhere and we were never bothered by noise. Even the birds, which some people complained about, couldn’t be heard when our windows were closed. I would stay here again without hesitation.

The location is great, right on the main plaza, so extremely close to the convent (major attraction in town) and restaurants. A short walk to the Mayan pyramid ruin. An absolutely beautiful small hotel and a great value. It is spotlessly clean. It has a pretty shaded outdoor terrace and a nice pool. The other terrace, on the rooftop, is too sunny and hot to use in the daytime, but beautiful in the evening, with views of the plaza.

Breakfast is not provided at this location, and only instant coffee. Our room was on the street side, and there was a lot of street noise, from traffic in the evening (although it quieted down later) and from extremely loud birds at dawn. Next time I will ask for a room away from the street

Great location right at the plaza (name…). Useful to be next door to supermarket. Room is great, large. Bathroom was funnily large, and shower water had some issues draining out, but no problems. Staff super friendly.

It’s a very old building, and the hotel reflects it. It has everything you’d want. AC managed to cool the room quickly, even if there’s no windows but instead holes in the wall with mosquito nets (which added to the nice plaza-facing ambiance).
