Check in staff friendly, close to the station

The bed and the sheets were bobbled and scratchy. The room was not clean, the wall and carpet around the bed were covered in dust, cobwebs and grime. The bathroom wasn't clean and the toilet didn't flush properly nor did the shower get hot after being run for ten minutes. The cushions and blanket on the bed looked like they had been there for years and needed changing. One for the bedside lamps didn't work and the light was searingly bright.

"Great tiles / poor atmos."

The building has lovely features - Victorian tiles etc and is very well kept and clean. Also check-in was easy and flexible.

It wasn’t that welcoming an atmosphere when we came back in the evening. It felt like we were interrupting a group of customers and some staff.
