Easy walk to Marina

No elevator. No restaurant. Instead of 2 queen beds we got a double and a twin. One chair

The lodge is an inexpensive motel option.. rooms are clean, comfortable and made up daily. Front desk personnel friendly and helpful. Does not have a continental breakfast or restaurant which is inconvenient. Rooms on the south facing side can be noisy as there is a McDonalds drive through next door. Obviously a favorite hangout for teens in the evening. Location is convenient for downtown area.

The BIG PLUS for Shelikof Lodge was the location. It is 5 minutes from the ferry dock, the Visitors Centre, the three main museums, a supermarket 3 minutes away and MacDonald's is next door, yet the area is very quiet. The manager was very welcoming and the room was SO Quiet! Just what I asked for.

Location was good.

The lodge was a decent base for exploring Kodiak Island over three days. The building is old, but everything worked fine for a short stay. Most of the staff were friendly and welcoming. The airport shuttle driver was kind enough to come back and pick us up even though we couldn’t reach anyone on the phone.

The room smelled strongly of smoke, which was quite unpleasant. Poor sound isolation — you could hear a lot of noise from outside and other rooms. The woman at the front desk during checkout was visibly uninterested and more focused on her tablet than helping guests. We were not informed that the airport shuttle had to be booked the day before, and when we needed it, the staff simply told us to call a taxi — which didn’t answer. The receptionist could have been more proactive and helpful in assisting us with transportation.
