Shelikof Lodge

I was there in February, it was very hot in the room.

The room was very cramped. It was sold as a triple room, but it only had one bed of 1.30 m wide and a second bed of 0.9 m wide. Very uncomfortable for 3 adults. We didn't have breakfast included in the price. We didn't have anywhere to buy breakfast.

The place was warm and easy to navigate around. It was also easy to locate, being off the min road.

Their entry system is slow and clunky, requiring them to take ids and cards, taking forever to make copies. The proprieter isnt the best at communicating, failing to tell me that i didnt schedule a ride to the airport correctly. Access to each room is annoying and sometimes difficult. They use a physical key that needs to be inserted upside down abd with a lot of force. The room i stayed in echoed whenever the bed made noise, making it very hard to get sleep AND the door shook loudly , and borderline violently, everytime somebody walked down the hall. The toilet in my room leaked as well. And finally, some guus tried to enter my room late at night, keeping me awake.

Location was convenient.

Advertised as having a restaurant attached to the hotel. Sign on the front door saying closed. Hairs in the shower, toilet felt like it was going to break and slanted to the floor.

I can't believe I had to pay money to sleep here. Really, I paid money to be uncomfortable and kept awake all night. My room was freezing. So cold I went to bed in fleece pants, long underwear, a sweatshirt, and a hat, and pulled all the covers from the second bed. The good thing was it didn't matter that I was too cold to sleep, since the room wasn't really intended for sleeping in. Room 230 is really an extension of the bar - I could hear all the music and conversation going on below me until 2am every night. Unfortunately, the hotel was full, so I couldn't change rooms. I almost took the covers off my bed and moved into the bar, because then at least I would have been warm and awake and not freezing and awake.

The helpful staff. The extra bed. The willingness to accommodate us.

It was good.
