So here’s the lowdown. The property is owned by 2 Mexican brothers who are in a family dispute that is so terrible that it affects travelers. One lives nearby (Steven)and the other in the US. (Barret) The beige casitas are run by the local owner and the colorful cabanas are owned by the US brother. We were guests of the US brother and we paid through booking.com. (we had no idea) No one was on site for us and nobody would help us with questions or introduction. There are 2 separate offices and no one was staffing “our office” No communication- you had to call and some of the other long term guests who we asked questions of wouldn’t help us. It was as though we were shunned because we were guests of the “other” The world is painful enough without being dragged into a family feud. We did have maid service but could never find our maid unless we bumped into or called a Mexican number to an off site manager… Wow. Nice property but really needs maintainence. Hard working Mexican people work to clean etc but have been directed to not help the people in the colorful casitas! Dystopian…

This property was probably one of the finest in the area when it was built many years ago. It has style and many different sizes of lodging, but age and wear and tear are beginning to take its toll. Our unit was very clean, due to amazing staff, but simple maintenance is being overlooked. Light bulbs, closet doors, kitchen cupboard doors and just the simple task of properly stocking it with kitchen utensils, pots and cooking supplies is sorely lacking. We had to wash utensils before we ate as there were only a small number of them in the drawer. The curtains in the bedrooms barely cover the windows and there are no blinds for privacy. I stacked books against them to cover the cracks at night. The tubs drain very slowly and I was standing in ankle deep water by the time my shower was finished. The outside area is experiencing the same neglect. There are switch boxes for lighting hanging by their wires. The pool tiles are flaking off on the steps and sides of the pool. There are plant roots growing out from underneath the tiles around the hot tub. The hot tub itself only has 2 of the 4 jets working. The handrail into the pool has half of the plastic cover peeling off. The pool, while well heated, is the same temperature as the hot tub. The barbques,while still working, are on their last legs and require some new burners. Coupled with the roosters crowing and the dogs barking, do not go here if you are a light sleeper. This is now a 2 star at best. This was and could be again a beautiful complex. But the property has two owners who do not see eye-to-eye and their inability to work constructively to maintain this poperty is really very sad.

There was a wedding in the neighborhood when we visited, making for a noisy night. Otherwise, it was a great place and we would love to return someday.

The location was great for walking to where I needed to go. They allowed my dog to stay.

The bed was a bit hard.

This resort is in a great location in Loreto- close to the Marina, and an easy walk to the Old Town tourist area. The idea of having the individual cabana's and casitas is great, and the availability of pools nice. Overall this should be a 10/10 property, but due to management maintenance neglect I can only give it a 5/10. We have previously stayed in a cabana, this year we were renting a casita, and found the staff to be exceptional. However, lack of maintenance and poor management is taking its toll on this property. The furniture in the casita we were in was worn out. They were disguising it by covering it with furniture coverings. Kitchen cabinet doors and bedroom closet doors are broken. There were 4 of us in the casita, and they were 4 forks, 4 knives, and 4 spoons and about 6 plates and bowls. 2 drinking glasses, about 4-5 wine glasses, and a dozen "shooter" glasses. Needless to say we had to purchase more drinking glasses, and we made sure the dishes were done promptly after each meal. During our stay, the internet was unreliable, and our receiver had to be replaced, we had to replace 3 burn out light bulbs and we experienced one 4 hour stretch, and a full day/night without any water. Apparently the town had a water problem, but the manager/owner on site was very slow to hire a truck to refill the water tanks, and when he did so, he complained to his guests about having to pay for it.... The pools are lovely, but there are several area where the tiles have fallen off, and not been replaced. Its very clear that the managers are not willing or able to reinvest to keep this property in good shape. It's really too bad, as it has great potential.
