FRA simple but safe and well-maintained accommodation in the middle of a humble area, right in the middle of the market of Soong. Don't be afraid when you get there because the area is a bit messy, but the coffee house reception is modern and offers really good food for a good price. The rooms are located in a tiny street among local houses. They can be a little loud in the evening, but who cares ? We were on vacation. Our room was tiny but clean, with a huge TV with movies and adjustable air-con. For the price, it was good. We could walk at night in the neighborhood where there are many places to eat, such as the Mercato de Mactan where many foodtrucks offer good food or drinks. It was for me a great experience to be far from tourists. The staff really welcomed us and helped us finding a white taxi for a fair price.
The room was quite small but it's okay compared to the local houses near-by, you have to put things into perspective. The mattress was smaller than the bed, it was only a 120cm which is a bit small for 2 persons... The shower is just above the toilet sink, so it's not practical but it works well. There were cockroaches on the outside hallway but no issues in the room. They must treat it with bug spray. We were actually happy with our stay.
