Chateau Mere

Прекрасный отель и ресторан! Давно мечтал здесь пожить и вот удалось так спланировать путешествие, чтобы переночевать в Шато Мере. Большой и уютный номер, шикарный вид с балкона на волшебный сад усадьбы и Алазанскую долину. Очень вкусная кухня в ресторане и бесподобное вино! Все понравилось, 10/10

Unfortunately, our stay at this château was very disappointing and far from what we expected from a wine château/hotel. From the very beginning, the welcome felt strange and rather indifferent. We expected that upon arrival we would be offered at least some basic introduction to the property, the château, the vineyards, and the wine experience. We also expected that dinner and, most importantly, a wine tasting of the château’s own wines would be arranged or at least offered to us. Instead, we were simply given the keys to our room. No one helped us with a heavy suitcase, and there was no real welcome or explanation of what guests can do at the property. The first room we were given had a serious problem: there was no working water, neither in the toilet nor in the shower. We immediately informed the staff about this issue and then left for the city for about four hours, expecting that the problem would be resolved by the time we returned. However, when we came back, the technicians were only then trying to fix it, and they told us that they had been informed about the problem only five minutes earlier. As a result, we were moved to another room. Unfortunately, this room was also unacceptable. In the bedside table, we found used cotton swabs, and in the toilet there was feces. This was absolutely shocking and unacceptable for any hotel, especially for a property positioning itself as a château and wine destination. When we politely told the administrator that we had expected a warmer reception and a wine tasting experience, especially since we had asked about it several days before our arrival, we were simply told that we had not booked anything. No one offered us any solution, no wine, no tasting, no alternative experience, and no gesture of apology. Overall, the experience was extremely disappointing. The service was cold and inattentive, the room conditions were unacceptable, and the staff did not seem interested in making guests feel welcome.

Hotel has excellent location, as it is very near to Telavi. Staff is very helpful and welcoming. Rooms exceeded expatiation as it was big and bright. Very clean and cosy as well. Beds are very comfortable and we had a good night sleep. In the morning we had fabulous traditional Georgian breakfast. Unique local wines are available at Hotel. Being in Chateau Mere means having a touch with local culture and tradition of wine.
