Haweswater Hotel

Beautiful location, welcoming staff.

No single or twin rooms. No fans/air-conditioning in the bedrooms. Friction amongst staff was palpable at breakfast. Please ensure potential guests are aware they there are no lifts and no one available to assist with heavy luggage.

The hotel was lovely in an amazing setting. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our room was very nice and had a view over the water. The food was very good. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The location!

The lousy service, the poor quality overpriced food and the attitude of the staff/management. Very expensive for a rubbish bit of very shabby service. We will never stay there again! The room was offered with a "View of the inner courtyard" this place does not have a courtyard of any description. It takes "SHABBY CHIC" to extremes and really is simply just SHABBY!

Lovely hotel in a scenic setting. Great food, and comfortable clean environment.

Unfortunately on this particular visit (unlike our previous visit) we were disturbed several times very late at night and early morning by staff talking, smoking, swearing, directly under our bedroom window, which we had opened due to the warm weather.

The property itself could be fantastic with the right owners willing to put some money into it. It’s in a remote but lovely location with abundance of beautiful walks and the views are amazing.

It was not clean! The term Art Deco is a cover up for how run down & shabby it actually is. The amount of cobwebs in our room was unbelievable and everything was in a poor state. Paper thin walls we could hear the staff every morning preparing breakfasts & clattering pans. (Luckily we are early risers) Dining tables and floors were sticky. The sofas in the lounge area were filthy and stained. Mop bucket on view in reception area is not good! Not enough staff but the 2 female staff that were working during our visit were lovely, but the 1 male staff member that we saw in the dining room was dressed in joggers and a T shirt which wasn’t a good look. Food in the evening was very over priced for the quality. Breakfast - a good selection but again quality of most of it was poor. Outside needs lots of TLC as this could be a lovely setting. Seating was not fit to sit on unless you were wearing your walking attire.

Lovely hotel. Very scenic location and great areas to relax and enjoy. Lovely food. Friendly staff.

Nothing not to like about the property but it’s tricky to access from the motorway due to the tiny twisty lanes.
