Khandroling Hotel

Nothing such was there which one can like.

Very unprofessional. We booked 3 delux rooms of same grade. Provided two rooms okay but one horrible. This 3rd room was like a srore room with literally no ventilation. Windows were there but you can't open as there are debris behind. When I requested them to change the room, they replied very badly like "You can stay or if you want you can cancel the booking". Since it was a peak season, I had no option other than stay there. No electric kettle. Very small toilet. Small room; just okay for two.

The highlight for this hotel is the location, its just 5 mins walk from M.G Road. Gangtok is a city where finding a parking space is difficult, however Hotel Khandroling is bang opposite to a multistoried paid parking space. The hotel attendants are very polite and humble, always ready to help you with all kinds of queries. It was really great interacting with them. For room 201, 301, 302, 303, the view from the window was excellent, we could see the Mahatma Gandhi Statue of MG Road & the Indian Flag with serene mountains in the background.

Of the 5 rooms that we had booked - 201, 301, 302 & 303 were good with MG Road View, Room # 204 looked very sad with hardly any view and natural light from the window. It felt too congested with hardly any space between the bed and walls to be able to walk around freely. Moreover, there was a pungent smell when we entered the room and the bedding was smelly too, The floor was sticky and the Toilet looked unhygienic as well. They cleaned up the room on request, but still the floor felt a bit sticky On questioning they said that the room is usually used by the hotel attendants when not booked. There was garbage piled up outside the window which attracted mosquitoes inside the room. Although the breakfast was complimentary, the menu was limited and had the following 4 options - Bread Butter (3 slices), Bread Egg Toast, Puri Bhaji or Roti Sabzi. The sabzi was of Potatoes, Peas & Cauliflower. However, tea was not included in the complimentary breakfast menu and was charged as extra at checkout.
