Nice, secure location for the northerly beaches

trucks constantly chugging up and down the road outside. Miles out of town and the one night we needed the restaurant, it was closed for "defumigation" - so we didn't eat there at all.

Everything is to far and the restaurant has a really bad service.

The location of the hotel was in an industrial area next to the noisy ferry terminal. The ferry arrives at 5 am and commercial transport trucks could be heard loading and unloading. There is an LNG terminal in the harbour. The hotel is shabby and worn and has seen better days. There is one overpriced restaurant with very substandard food. In the morning there was no one at reception and so the charges for my well-behaved dog were not reversed on my credit card. I do not recommend this hotel.

This historic place is remote and far enough away from the city to feel like a true resort. Because they have their own fleet, we were able to spend just about everyday out on that beautiful Sea of Cortez. The hidden gem was the restaurant, El Molinito, which served the freshest, most delicious seafood you could hope for. Loved seeing Noe, Santiago, Christopher, and Diana every day!!! Definitely worth renting a car if you’ll be staying here. While we didnt have a problem grabbing an Uber or DiDi rideshare, we’re told they don’t always love to drive that far.

There can be some road noise from the port next door at all hours but not bad if you close your patio doors and use the AC.

The private beach and the snorkeling

No fridge or microwave, difficult to get ice. Too many office staff that were not helpful and a few males that were RUDE!

The bay and birds and sunrise/sunsets are stunning! Restaurant staff was very kind. Caser who worked the night shift in the reception was also extremely helpful and kind.

Everything else. This place is expensive and super far away and that was ok because I wanted to treat myself to a beautiful remote retreat… well this was a fail. Room smelled like sulfur and made a loud buzzing sound on and off for hours. Bed was terrible. Restaurant was the worst food ever. Pretty sure the daytime hotel reception kid ripped me off when he charged me a taxi ‘deposit’ and said it’s because of people calling taxis and not taking them.. it was a scam and I knew it. So I paid the little jerk 100 MZN as a deposit. I travel for work and will NEVER EVER stay here again - such a lost opportunity for an awesome place. One saving grace (aside from Baja California nature) was Caser the night reception guy - he said he worked on the boats as well - he was awesome, helpful, friendly & didn’t scam me like the day guy did. WARNING TO ALL TRAVELERS THIS PLACE IS DISAPPOINTING. Follow up the taxi was twice the cost as quoted.

Beautiful private beach, a quiet location (outside of a bit of car traffic), beautiful sunsets, and birds going around. This was almost empty in January. Staff helped us with water and were always available when needed.

Wifi was too spotty for us to take video calls but we have our own wifi. The beach wasn't always clean, some plates and glasses stayed there for days.
