"Great, cheap, quiet rooms."

10.0

I really liked this place, for the money we paid. My wife, not so much, but what did she really expect for the money. We arrived late at night and were gone by 7am, it was all we needed. Great location for the beach. Nice people. Quiet. Places to park. I agree with what others have said. Not much in Akumal, but the turtle beach and the local mafia have taken the fun out of that. You can only swim in a small area without being fleeced. That said, saw three turtles there.

"A great base to explore Akumal and beyond"

10.0

A perfect local place for a few nights in the heart of Akumal pueblo - Marco was so welcoming and helpful in navigating colectivos, and his guesthouse felt basic but very homely. Super easy to walk 15 mins to akumal bay, 25 mins to cafes/restaurants along half moon bay, or drive 5 mins to small cenotes. Recommend walking around the quiet town to discover tons of street art and huge murals. Marco's friend Sergio was also a fantastic local guide and such a pleasure to meet!

"Love this place"

10.0

I stayed here 2 times this year from November 25 until the 30th then from December 15 till December 22. the first time my hosts were Pablo and Karla and they were the best people you could meet. Friendly and very hospitable. They go out of their way to make sure you have a good stay. The second time my hosts were Mariele and Marco and the same goes for them very friendly and hospitable. Everybody that works here goes out of their way to make sure you have a enjoyable stay. The rooms are clean and comfortable with tv mini friges and a small table and great for anybody that is on a budget or just looking to extend your stay in paradise I would recommend this hotel in Akumal Pueblo to anybody. It located at the top of the hill right after the bridge over hwy 307. Next year i plan on spending several weeks here and really cant wait to get back.

"I liked it so much I stayed 2 more nights!"

10.0

First things first, this isn't a 5-star resort. The room is very utilitarian. If you're traveling on a budget, it has everything you need -- a bed, AC, wifi, TV, hot water. Everything is clean. What really sets this place apart is how friendly the owner, Pablo is. I had a great time chatting with him, he patiently answered tons of questions, helped me figure out a song, and he helped me store my motorcycle. Secondly, this place is in the center of Akumal Pueblo, which is a little bit away from the beach. The difference is, this is a real Mexican town, whereas the playa is just another resort area. You'll find dollar tacos and street plantains and kids playing basketball across the street. If you want to find a really _nice_ beach, not super crowded with tourists and hotel chairs and all that, head about 15 km to Xcacel, pay 84 pesos, and enjoy. I liked this place so much I extended my stay.
