Hotel du Nord, Hamburg-Volksdorf

Location was my primary concern for this business trip. Hotel is ideally located for what I need. Available parking facilities are also excellent. Free water bottle in room on arrival which surprisingly is not always the case in other hotels. Overall an excellent experience.

Stayed before and would stay again. Excellent for my needs and a short walk from shops and restaurants, very convenient. Also very good breakfast and good parking space availability are huge plus.

Small confusion at check-in, Booking.com stated I could checking until 23h but on Sundays its only until 21h. I arrived later than I planned, around 21h45, and reception was closed and none of the phone numbers (in booking.com, in the sign at the door or in the warning notice in the reception for emergency calls) was picked up when I called. Luckily the staff of the restaurant was still there and very helpful and called some number and was guided to a safety box in the front door which, through pin code, could be opened and my key card was inside. Apart from this everything worked perfectly well but was a stress on arrival that I did not need. 1 point deducted from the overall review due to nobody answering my calls to guide me to the safety box where my key was located.

The location is perfect for my purpose.
