The Cottages at Captain Gosnold Village

Just back from a fantastic stay at Gosnold Village - Cottage 12A. The cottage was exactly as the pictures showed - lovely decor with a nautical vibe and spotless. Well kitted out with all you need for a stay including dishes, glasses etc plus plenty of towels for the week. Great location walking distance to Main Street and the harbour for boat trips to Martha’s Vinegard etc. Staff were super helpful and responsive, especially Amy and Chris - they gave us a late check out to suit our baby’s nap at no extra charge, which we really appreciated. The whole area felt very safe and the few neighbours we bumped into were friendly. Would definitely return - earlier in September next time so we can take advantage of the outdoor pool! Hyannis itself is a great base for Cape Cod and we had the best time exploring the area.

Two minor things I would improve - there was no rail to hang clothing eg dresses in the wardrobe - it was all shelves. But looks like someone had the ingenuous idea of getting an over door rail hanger that did the job (though it meant the door didn’t close). One rail in the wardrobe would be an easy job that would make a big difference to a fashionista like me! And the other tiny quibble is there were no Prosecco flutes, only wine glasses - again, a small detail but for a few dollars, it would be a nice touch to have.

Our stay was better than expected! The cottages were quaint and cute, totally providing the cape cod experience. Main st, beaches and ferry were all within walking distance. They were able to accommodate an early check in when we got there sooner than expected. It was four adults staying in the cottage and there was more than enough room for everyone. The pull out sofa was super comfy. The grounds were so peaceful, loved sitting out on the patio and watching the sunset. Will definitely be back!

The cottages have window ac units instead of central air. They did make noise so if you are someone who is sensitive to noises when you sleep it may be an issue. It was fine for me because I need the white noise to sleep so I loved it!

Our cottage was cozy and very clean. It was nice to be located so close to the pool, although we did not get to use it during our stay. The layout was really nice, especially having the bedroom tucked away from the main living area. we’ve stayed at some other rentals in the area and this felt a lot bigger.

For the price, I was a bit disappointed that the cottage didn’t have more amenities included. The toiletries were OK but sparse. The biggest surprise and disappointment was the fact that there were no beach towels either for the pool or to take to the beach. I’ve never stayed at a beach condo that didn’t have Beach gear. It was also strange to have to turn off the a/C units every time you want to dry your hair.

The location was perfect for everything we wanted to do. ialto management was wonderful and helped us extend our stay.

Rooms were clean. 12A has an ant problem. The air conditioner in 12B bedroom barely cooled the room. and is very loud.,

I loved the landscaping and the way the unit was decorated very cute. The shower was very nice and there was everything you needed to cook something to eat. For the most part it was very quiet and walking distance to a few beaches.

I didn't like the musty odor that was very strong. I tried to spray stuff and used candles but it didn't help. The deck chairs were dirty and faded and there wasn't an umbrella. The pool looked like it was ready but was closed. There were small ants in the rooms and in the middle of the night some alarm beeping went off twice. No one answered when I called the second time. The units were connected and the walls were thin hearing your neighbors. I thought the cottages would be separate not adjoined.
