We were unable to get breakfast on the weekend. We were not treated well by the staff.

When we checked in the room provided faced the parking lot. The hotel clerk was very gracious about changing our room to one that faced the lake and it also had a very nice balcony. All the staff were very cheerful and helpful.

Did not like the shower/tub. Tub very small with very high sides almost not safe if you have any balance issues.

Multiple gyms and pools, lakeside with included resort amenities - would have loved to have taken in a bit more

Room itself was quite dated and tired - it has historical charm in its facade and restaurant, but the room itself could have used some updating 30 years ago or so. There is no city on the planet but Kelowna where the El Dorado could charge what they do for a room, where what they offer for that room would be seen as reasonable. In Kelowna since the BC government killed the private rentals it is the only option in the city worth staying at, and its price reflects that. My next stop in my business trip was in Vernon where I had a *much* nicer room also on a lake for about 1/4 the price, so it stings to pay what El Dorado costs to stay somewhere that in any other city would be a fraction of that, just because the government killed the competition operating at El Dorado’s level of quality in the city. I would happily stay again, because since BC banned the private options El Dorado is the best available in Kelowna.

Loved being on the lake. Convenient. Nice walking areas.
