Manta Reserve

The guest house talked for itself. It’s close to the bikini beach but inland. It’s quiet. My room had some problems and they were quick and willing to give me another room, bigger one, that was very nice of them.

I didn’t like breakfast or any food there. Though breakfasts there generally r of no variety but there chef does not know what he is doing though he is Indian. I was shocked. That was also the reason why I shorten my stay there. The management should think of changing him.

We felt very welcome and comfortable in Manta Reserve! The cook, Crispin cooked excellent dishes, very tasty and he is friendly and open minded. Manta Reserve has a very good style, the restaurant has also an open area in the garden and it's wonderful to eat there! The waiter uses incense sticks and it's helpful against the mosquitos and they smell also very nice and create an excellent environment in the garden area while you eat. All the staff was very friendly and professional! We were picked up and left in the port, which was a huge plus for us! And the manager was very professional at all times and friendly as well! Unfortunately we couldn't do a trip as we had a diving course going on and a bit of bad weather but anyway we enjoyed our stay at Manta Reserve.

Perfect spot to experience a relaxing holiday. The island was rural , untouched, beach was as big and beautiful it can be and local people were amazing. The hotel was located in the most silent part of the island and few minutes from the bikini beach. Mr. Naeem who is originally from the island was the perfect host and took us snorkeling and fishing.

We were a family of 4, with two teenagers, and we had two beautiful connected large rooms. Wifi was great and rooms were very clean. Everything was beautiful arranged with palms, trees, flowers everywhere. The guesthouse is located almost on the beach and just a short walk to bikini beach and the most beautiful house coral reef. We would recommend going on coral garden and turtles snorkeling trip.

The hotel has plenty of potential to be great with better management. The rooms are beautiful, and the garden area is lovely and kept tidy. Easy and short access to the beach. They borrowed snorkelling gear and organised us boat trips to and back from the airport. The kitchen staff are wonderful, and they take care of the cat in the property. They offer water in reusable bottles by Soneva water, like the entire island, to avoid plastic waste.

There is no housekeeping throughout the stay, meaning you don't get new towels (maybe if you ask). No emptying trash bins or sweeping the floors. There was no hand towel or hand soap. Breakfast was quite plain and simple. Some changes could have been nice. Our host was Naeem, who was nice enough, but it was difficult to get information from him. He didn't tell us anything about the island or activities unless we directly asked him specific questions. Even then, replies were vague. He organised us a boat trip, which was lovely, where we had 2 stops to snorkle, but tried to charge us price for 2 separate excursions, even if it was only one boat trip. Managed to negotiate a lower combo price, but would have appreciated it if he could have informed us about the pricing beforehand. The bed was extremely soft, so not comfortably for everyone. We read the dinner is delicious, but the price was 15$, which was quite high compared to the other local restaurants, so we opted to eat outside.
