"Good"

availability of drinking water, a skilled and helpful chef, spacious room, near the beach

instead of a terrace we had a tree - little space, no privacy, soft bed, breakfast was the same for 5 nights - only the fruit changed, we bought a trip to see the turtles - 2 points - at 10pm the owner told us that there would only be 1 point and that the second one would be the next day.. which was not the case! No one apologized and acted as if nothing had happened! We really didn't like this approach. :((

"Very pleasant and a good value"

We always like to stay in a place where they give you their all. Manta Reserve gave us their best. We were on Maalhos for one night to visit friends. The speedboat pickup was seamless, the reception was easy. Our bed was very good. Our weather was rainy but the staff was sunny. The food was good and very kindly, the manager offered us a late breakfast (even though our public ferry arrived at 12:30p). We really appreciated that! Thank you, Manta Reserve!

It's such a small thing but there was no instruction about "serve yourself" to breakfast, coffee, tea. We didn't quite know what to do and sat there for quite a while (early birds!) before anyone was around to notice.

"Disappointing experience and unresolved reimbursement"

We stayed at Manta Reserve almost two months ago. Our communication with the venue prior arrival was fantastic. The team was responsive and helpful, ensuring a smooth pre-arrival experience with all the information requested. Although we were hosted in the old part, we really loved the simple boho style of the rooms, the comfort of the beds, the rooms size. I was clean and tidy. The property has such a charming atmosphere. We loved the green plants in the inner yard. We even enjoyed walking barefoot on the grounds, which added to the natural feel of the place. And more zen mood to our experience. The breakfast was great. My only suggestion is to add some variety. We dined at the property almost every day, and I must say, Chrispin is an amazing chef. In addition, he was making us dishes from India, where he is originally from and that gave us opportunity to explore and taste traditional Indian dishes too. We not only appreciated his culinary skills but also his warmth and kindness. He truly made us feel like we had a personal chef. Each day Chrispin took time to ask us about our food preferences and even adjusted the meals to suit our diets. His approach, care, and willingness to ensure we enjoyed every meal made the experience even more special. We really felt like we were being treated to something personalized and unique. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same about the on-site manager Naeem. When I asked Naeem for information about the island, I didn’t receive any helpful answers. In fact, I ended up learning more from other tourists and locals than from the manager himself. This lack of support left us feeling less than welcome. We were left with the feeling that he knows nothing about the island and the area.

Another issue we encountered was with booking tours. We discovered that tours were only available through Naeem, which limited our options. Unfortunately, we didn’t find the trips offered appealing, nor satisfying with the pricing. In addition, on our arrival Naeem asked us to sign a form, called Waiver of Liability Disclaimer. Which, to be honest, was quite disturbing for us. Having traveled extensively around the world, I was surprised by the nature of the form. It felt excessive and made me uncomfortable. /I shared the form with other guests staying at the property – they were not told to fill the same form/ witch I found weird. On our last day at the property, we were supposed to take a speedboat arranged by Naeem. However, just as we were on our way to the port /about 7 in the morning/, Naeem informed us that the boat was no longer available. He told us it would arrive in the afternoon, with about 6-7-hour delay from our scheduled time. We were heading to another island, so thankfully, it wasn't our flight back home. Due to the unforeseen circumstances, we had to book airplane tickets to reach our destination on the same day. This led to unexpected expenses, and we ended up arriving almost 10 hours later than planned, losing a whole day of our trip. Given the situation, I kindly reached out the venue the next days to request compensation for one night, as we felt it was only fair. The venue agreed and promised to reimburse us. However, despite multiple follow-ups, the constant communication and empty explanations about “issues with the bank transfer,” it's now been over a month and 20 days, and we still haven’t received any reimbursement. This entire situation has left us with a bitter taste, and it's hard to feel satisfied with a venue that doesn’t follow through on their promises.

"Terrible experience. Definitely not a $100 a night hotel"

The breakfast, the Chef and the staff guys, and their cat:)

The toilet drain blocked for a whole night and we stayed until the morning with faeces and urine floating inside the toilet. In addition, once the problem was resolved, a strong smell appeared from the drain which accompanied us throughout our stay and could not be removed. As if that were not enough, we were also told from the moment we checked in that we could not throw the toilet paper in the toilet and that we would have to throw it in the bin. Too bad that with 32 degrees and without anyone regularly emptying and cleaning the bin the smell in the room had become really unpleasant. Impossible to sleep due to the fan being too loud and noisy (this is the first hotel we've found where you can't regulate it!). It was like sleeping in a room with a Boing 747 on. The mattress was also really too soft (it sinks at least 10 cm) and consists of two single mattresses (too bad they are slightly small for the bed and besides being too soft they create an annoying hole in the middle of the bed). The sunbeds are the most neglected on the entire island. There is not one that is undamaged or clean and on each of them are bird droppings that no one has ever taken the trouble to clean. Check-in was also almost non-existent (apart from the information related to the bikini beach and room issues, no useful information was given about either the hotel or its services). As if this was not enough, we asked to speak to the owner urgently and were assured that we would be contacted again. Unfortunately nobody has contacted us yet, so we will proceed by lodging an official complaint with the authority about this hotel

"Superb"

Our stay at this place was wonderful! The staff were polite and welcoming. The location is excellent. Our room was clean and with very comfortable bed.A special shout-out to the responsive owner, who went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. This is truly a great place to stay, and the island itself is stunning, offering a perfect mix of relaxation and adventure. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and will definitely be returning. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!

Can be bit noisy from 7-30 to 8-30 if you’re room near kitchen

we liked absolutely everything, very warm welcome, wonderful cook, wonderful Naeem, I apologize in advance if I wrote the name incorrectly. they helped with any issue. we remember our vacation with great joy. now, what does not apply to the hotel, the island is beautiful, the locals are very friendly, there are several restaurants, the ocean is amazing. on the last day dolphins swam, a lot of them. in general, delight!
