Super friendly staff and basic, good value for money rooms. Amazing rooftop views. Delicious breakfast!

They say there’s access to a kitchen - there’s not really. there’s a camping stove and you have to ask to use it, and we weren’t allowed to use it in the evening.

can be quite warm in the nights, there was just a ceiling fan installed the location is not suited for elderly people or very young children, because of the steep stairs which are the fastest route to Mazunte town.

+ Location - very top of the hill up behind Mazunte beach, so it was very peaceful and had stunning views + family owned, nice people + few people around so you can get away from the beach buzz at the end of the day + hot water in the shower, if you need it

It’s a steep 10-minute hike up through an unlit dust path. I liked this, but it might not suit everyone. The room was quite basic and could do with some tlc (I had a triple room with sea view with a fan). Things like a side light for reading would be useful, a shutter on the window (it has a mozzy screen only) to prevent road noise from the next hill, a better shower head as the water pressure was weak. I’d say the triple rooms with sea view (with a fan (not a/c) are small. Totally fine for 1 or 2 people, but would be tight with 3 adults.

Overall ok for the price. Slightly rude staff accusing us of making too much noise. Funny seeing as we got in at 11pm went straight to sleep and then left again at 7:30am. Not the easiest to get to, taxi driver got confused and never heard of it. A lot of steps to get up but great views once you’re there.

Excellent view from the public area. Gonzalo and Estella are excellent hosts. Breakfasts are tasty, convenient and very good value for money. Well placed windows and fan were adequate with no air conditioning.

Bed was small and a plastic undersheet made the corners of the fitted sheet come undone.

beautiful location. views of the sea. thoughtful design. kitchen on site if you need and lovely dinning area and other shared communal areas you can have breakfast with an amazing view. the room was lovely and clean. good shower. really comfortable bed! good shower too. staff were really helpful.

The El den Bungalows are only 10 minutes walk from down town Mazunte which is super practical and as it is on a small mountain and the view is beautiful. But you need to be in shape as the stairs to go up to the property are quite something. We were 3 days in the Bungalow and 2 days in the family room. There is no AC is either of the rooms, the bungalow had 2 fans that did the job but in the Family room only 1 fan on the ceiling. it was very warm (were their in mid Feb). I do suggest the bungalow. The breakfast was good and cost about 10$ can. I do recommend this place but don't expect a 4* hotel.

Only one fan in the family room and there was no screen in the large window.
