Hotel Quinto Sol

The owner is very friendly and can speak English and Spanish. He lives on the premises. If you don’t want to go into town they make breakfast for you for an additional charge. He has told me that he is putting in air conditioning in most of the rooms. A wonderful terrace and view.

The only challenge was walking up from town, but the owner is in the process of making additional parking below.

The location above the beautiful beach town of Mazunte was perfect. The hotel has a beautiful view overlooking the town an the wide Pacific Ocean. The manager, Cesar, was an excellent host and I learned much about the area from him.

Loved our 5 nights here. Beds were comfortable, views were beautiful, lovely quite location and the owner very friendly and helpful. Thank you for a great stay!

The smell of sewage was coming out of the bathroom sink, stinking the whole room. It was unbearable. I can't stress this enough, we were gagging every morning. The mosquito net was ripped, so we coudnt have the window open. The fan above only worked at the lowest speed so they gave us an industrial one, which was so loud we coudnt have it plugged in. Because of this, we were either hot, awake, or full of mosquito bites at night. The nightstand was full of big red ants that crawled everywhere, including ourselves when we were sleeping. When we complained, the owner was rude and reported us to booking that we broke something in the room (we hadn't touched anything). Booking support tried to get us out for the rest of our stay but couldnt. At some point, when they thought we were at the beach, the housekeeper just barged in to our room. We didn't feel safe or private in this hotel, and staying here was a nightmare. Avoid at all costs.

Wonderfully tucked away at the top of town, with spectacular sunrise, and ocean views form common roof terraces. Coffee and light meals available on request on roof terrace cafe. Cleaning on request. Friendly, family environment, entirely designed and built with pride by owner and brother ear and Erik. Felt like family and brotherhood, special bond. Cesar made it all right in the end and is a stand up man.

A period of no water and staff missing for several days due to illness. Owner drove immediately to property next day to resolve everything after immediate concerns of water malfunction settled. Neighboring properties have fellow vacationers and their rooftop terrace is very close - partying until the wee hours was unbearable.
