Excellent central location, very nice efficient staff, food and service well above average

Cleaning staff maybe need to spend a little more time on the finer points.

The bed was comfortable.

We were in the last room outside, Troubadour. First impression not very good as the alleyway to the room had rubbish along it and wasn't at all inviting. We both found the room very small indeed. We had two suitcases and there was no room to store these. As for clothes storage, there was one very small drawer at the side of both beds and for hanging clothes there was a wooden rail type of thing which had about 4 hangers on which was supposed to be screwed to the wall but it was coming away. Very poor indeed.....The bathroom had one small shelf which we found quite inadequate. The cold tap on the sink was loose....The weather was very hot and there was a standing fan supplied but this had seen better days and didn't quite fully work......The room itself was very noisy from the pub crowd and of course the traffic. We had breakfast, which was tasty despite the fact that the fried eggs came with barbed wire edges. Also the fact that you had to pay extra if you wanted more than one drink or even just one drink if you wanted juice as this isn't included. Our stay was for four nights, on the third morning when we went in for breakfast we were told that the chef had had to go back home because of an emergency and that there wouldn't be any breakfast. They apologised and said that our money had been refunded, not the best but we went two doors up to the local Spoon's and had a wonderful breakfast, a great deal cheaper along with as many drinks as you wanted.....On our final day our daughter and partner wanted to have breakfast with us before taking us to the airport, they normally don't serve breakfast to non residents but they said on this occasion they would and as they hadn't yet refunded us the money, even though the previous day they said they had already done it, that would cover the two extra people.

Very large comfortable bed, lovely linen and a fan which helped during the heat wave! The room is large, not pokey at all! Breakfast was tasty with lots of different options including gluten free bread! 😊

We had to keep the windows closed (during the heat wave), due to loud pub patrons across the road.

Great location for shops, restaurants and the train station

We had a room with a king bed and sofa bed - the sofa bed was lumpy and you could feel the bars through the mattress.

Excellent location, with parking included. The pub offered good set menus for lunch which we took advantage of as we arrived early. The room was very comfortable and extra touch of fan in room was very much appreciated as we stayed during heat wave.
