Great location and big room.

Not all the toileteries were there. Big gap between them door and the frame.

Beautiful location and nice comfortable rooms

Simple, honest accommodation right by the river — exactly what you need for an overnight stop on the Mekong. The rooms are basic but comfortable, with working air conditioning and a good night’s sleep. Breakfast is straightforward, but Pakbeng’s excellent bakeries are just a short walk away and well worth exploring. We rated it an 8, taking into consideration that it is a 2-star standard. Bonlinger take: A simple base that lets you linger lightly. Everything in Pakbeng — bakeries, restaurants, river views — is within an easy 5–10 minute wander.

Would prefer a slightly larger room with better facilities - but Pakbeng is a 1-2 star accommodation town - particularly if you want to be near the wharf.

- couldn’t use the bathroom all night long because there where big cockroaches - one pillow had blood stains - one towel wasn’t clean

The accomodation is located right above the harbour, so it can easily be reached on foot and offers an amazing view onto the Mekong river and the elephant sanctuary on the opposite site (we even saw one in the morning. The huts made of a rattan weaklving make the walls seem like a starry sky at night, which is very romantic. The huts are also quite luxurious and airy offering wonderful fresh air and you can be protected through the provided mosquito nets, which were not necessary when we were there. The free breakfast was offered from 6:30 to 8, perfect for boat schedules, and offers coffee from a bialetti kettle.

Due  to the rattan wall structure, the rooms are not very soundproofed, so you hear the sounds from the harbour. The free breakfast was fairly rudimentary and continental, even though it is served in an Indian restaurant, which also belongs to the same owners. The room only provided one power socket.
