Location close to Inverewe gardens. Evening meal was OK.

Room too hot - only way to reduce it was to open window and let in midges. Loose bathroom fittings. Breakfast overcooked, no smoked salmon available. No butter or side plates left out, only spoons were serving size or teaspoons. Staff seemed undertrained. Overpriced. Not asked for feedback when checking out.

We arrived about 3pm to find the hotel closed. We looked in through the windows and round the back at the bar and immediately decided we had no wish to stay at what appeared to be a dated, run down unwelcoming establishment. We decided to take the unpreferred option of a long drive home instead and forfeit our prepaid £176!!!!

Great location. Good breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff.

Room was small and felt quite run down, not particularly comfortable bed, felt expensive for quality of room.
