GBWe clarified and got the ok from Booking.com that we could arrive later than 9 pm as we were coming from a wedding . When we arrived at 10pm the hotel was closed. We phoned them up but there was no answer. We knocked and still no reply. Nobody came. We waited 20 minutes trying to see how to get somebody’s attention As we were in the middle of the countryside we had no other possibility than driving back to London.

Everything was great
GBPleasant breakfast and service. The shower was excellent and the bed was comfortable. The courtyard was well kept.
Rooms were adequate but need a bit of TLC - my lamp was broken, hairdryer needed replacing, needed more toiletries.

Room was extremely hot. Skylight blind didn’t open and skylight window didn’t open so no way to cool the room. As soon as we checked in we had to head straight out to meet family. Though the room was extremely hot (even with 2 fans running constantly when we arrived) we assumed we could open the window when we got back later in the evening to cool the room. By the time we got back in the evening we realised the windows were nailed shut and it was too late to ask for a change of room. 2 adults and 2 kids in an extremely hot room with no ventilation made it a very uncomfortable night sleep.
