The Roxbury

Wish there were a bit more food options on site at the Stratton falls location. Otherwise our stay was lovely and we loved the cottage we were in.

I arrrived later in the evening after the desk attendant had already left i went to my room & found that the room didnt match the pics that the had online & there was little to do about this because there was nobody there & nopbody answered the after hours phone call. Although this is a nice little motel, the problem is that I specifically booked this property for the Hot tub after a day of skiing & the hot tub was broken, but they were offering for me to use the one 2 miles up the road which is completely uncomfortable & not very accessible if my room is 2 miles away & its 19º & snowing prior to heading to the mountain the next morning i was speaking to the exceptionally dry desk attendant & i was informed that the hot tub had been out of commission for a few weeks and they were waiting to have it fixed. this is something that should have been noted during the booking stage. I went to pick up my "breakfast" in the morning & i inquired about the possibility of cancelling my 2nd night & was informed that i would have to call Expedia to discuss it with them. i decided to ski & see how i felt after this & whether to drive the 4 hours home was an option. I decided to leave the hotel since there was no need for me to stay any longer since i couldnt do what i had originally had intended to do. I am an avid traveler who flys over 140k miles a year & whp spends over 200 nights in a hoetl. Thos was not a great stay. there is also NOWHERE to eat or drink after 8 pm.

Very good place, clean and cozy. Stuff is very friendly. Hotel has a hottub, sauna and steam room included in the room price, however the reservation is required for those amenities, which is not mentioned on Expedia! So after booking better to call hotel directly and made the reservation. Expedia didn't notify us so when we arrived to hotel, all amenities were fully booked and we could not enjoy it.

The cottage at Stratton Falls was amazing. It’s a destination.

The staff were lovely. The room was spacious, it was great to have two real comfortable beds (one king and one queen)- as I was staying with a friend. The Motel was conveniently located between two ski hills- Belleyare and Plattekill, and the small village was also nice.about 20 mintues drive to some of the more popular restaurants in the area.

We had heard about the Roxbury hotel and decor and were excited to visit. It was unclear when booking on Bookings that in fact we had booked the Motel and not hotel. We had room 1 (the Shagadellic) which is their first ever designed room. While I'm sure the decor of the other rooms may be better, our one just felt like an outdated motel...Breakfast was also included in the steep price, but we had to order it every day in advance, and could only select 4 items that would be delivered to our room (I ordered 2 hard boil eggs and it counted as 2 items...the bagel was small and stale...needless to stay we never bothered to order breakfast after the first attempt). We were also charged a 20$ per day facilitates fee- however we were told some of the facilities were not working. we had to book in advance the use of the hot tub and sauna on the other property- there was very very limited spots and we only managed to go once. our spot was booked for a mere 45 minutes( 10 minutes taken up by explanations) the private hot tub was separated by a bath curtain from the entrance to the building..a bit strange. Overall there was a feeling there was no common space (at the hotel or motel) to just sit and relax, rather we made use of our room. the room was decently sized and equipped, but the bathroom was abnormally small and we could hear the people snoring next door. Also because of the motel style- we could hear the cars pulling out of the driveway in the early morning. For almost 300 USD per night the room, breakfast and overall amenities of the Motel/Hotel just didn't seem worth it.

A unique place. Old style motel with modern, themed rooms, and upgraded room amenities. Staff friendly and accommodating. Comfortable, quiet location one block from small dining and shopping area of Roxbury. Good breakfast choices put in bag to take back to room. Great wi-fi, cable TV w/Netflix. Only issue was low water pressure. Staff aware and apologetic.

The shower in Room 1 wasn’t working, but a staff member kindly offered to move us to a different bigger room. It was a thoughtful and caring gesture. Recommend book the spa in advance..

Design

This place is a hidden gem and place to escape especially coming from NYC. It was worth the trip and wish I could experience the other rooms. Stayed in Tony's Dancefloor and it was well detailed and fun. Staff was informative and accommodating. Will come back eventually.
