"Pleasant, wouldn't mind repeating"

9.0

Location is very convenient, 5 mins walk to Nakajimakoen station, and walking distance to town (Susukino/Odori Park). Breakfast is very simple but okay for the price. Toiletries, heater and basic necessities were free.

No free parking if you're renting a car but overnight park is about RM40 which is still acceptable. Not quite sure about the laundry service they didn't mention upon check in. No room housekeeping but they do hang new towels outside your door everyday.

A Kafkaesque Check-in Experience: Where Your Credit Card Goes to Die Checking into this hotel was like stepping into a surrealist nightmare where logic and reason were strictly forbidden. The front desk staff operated with the efficiency of a broken fax machine and the confidence of a magician pulling a rabbit out of an empty hat. After handing over my passport and attempting to pay, I was treated to a live performance of “How Not to Use a Credit Card Terminal”, starring an employee who pushed random buttons like a toddler trying to hack into the Pentagon. Seven failed attempts later, his boss swooped in, armed with neither English nor technical skills, to inform me that my MasterCard was not actually a MasterCard. Ah yes, the age-old financial conspiracy where banks issue counterfeit MasterCards just to baffle underqualified hotel staff. When I pointed at their own payment board, where the MasterCard logo was clearly displayed, she doubled down—insisting my card was an imposter. I half-expected a dramatic reveal where she would rip off my MasterCard’s disguise to expose it as a Visa all along. Then came the pièce de résistance: after blaming my bank, my card, and possibly the alignment of the planets, they casually processed a different guest’s MasterCard without issue. At this point, a kind bilingual traveler intervened, and I finally deciphered (through Google Translate) that the machine had been rejecting the payment due to a missing PIN code. A simple problem with a simple solution—except, of course, nobody at the front desk knew how to enable PIN entry. After another round of frantic translating, I operated their own payment terminal for them and successfully paid. The entire ordeal took over half an hour—30 minutes of my life that I will never get back, spent in the twilight zone of bureaucratic incompetence. Final verdict? If you enjoy watching employees make up alternative financial theories instead of admitting they don’t know how their own machines
