Good sized room. Clean. Laundry and vending machines available. Well located.

1) Location is a 5min walk to Nakajimakoen Station and Nakajima Park. It is also just across the road from Toyohira River, which has good cycling infrastructure, nice views of the river rapids and cityscape. 2) Breakfast is not included in the booking but it's only for an extra 500 yen for food that is delicious and filling.

1) A previous occupant spilled coffee on the carpet right next to the door and left a lingering smell. I informed the staff at the desk but it was still there after I came back a few hours later in the evening. I understand it could be miscommunication and depending on the staff on duty, we had to use google translate to communicate. This is not really a negative since it is common across Japan.

It was close to Susukino, the nightlife district of Sapporo. The closest train station is only about a 5-minute walk and Susukino is about a 15 minute walk. The breakfast is only 500 yen (though it's definitely a "get-what-you-pay-for" situation). The staff was friendly and check-in was quicker than most hotels I stay at. Other than the heat, the room was rather comfortable, but speaking of the heat...

The rooms were SO HOT. There are no air con units and you have limited control of the heat / air conditioning. In the "summer season", it stays in cool mode. In the "winter season" it stays in heat mode. I run very hot naturally and I traveled in April, so it was still in winter mode. Even though I turned the heat off, I could still feel residual heat floating in from the vents. I'm sure if I traveled in the middle of winter or the middle of summer, it would have been much more comfortable, but with limited control, April is probably one of the worst times to stay there.
