Olas Permanentes El Zonte

The location was fantastic. Having the restaurant on property was a big plus. Rooms were adequate. Having parking was nice but they have public parking, and you may have to park elsewhere until the lot is vacated with day visitors.

Parking was not available when I arrived, and I had to wait for a space to open up. Had to park a few blocks away.

Beautiful location and good portion sizes for free breakfast and at the restaurant. Very cute dogs as well.

Not the most social place but if you’re coming to relax by the beach it is perfect! Sunsets are amazing and staff are sweet.

First of all, the overall description as this being a hotel is wrong - it is a restaurant with rooms. It was very annoying that you couldn’t enjoy neither use the common area nor find a place to sit as it was packed with “day-guests” the entire day. Plus the whole place was so noisy, loud and filled with trash. Moreover facilities such as toilets were extremely gross since there were so many people here, who are not guests. Also, the personel at the restaurant was everything but service-minded or friendly. You almost had to go catch a waiter in order to either order, get your food and pay and even then they still roll their eyes at you and express how much they hate being at work. Additionally we had several power cuts with no water or electricity. Since we paid a lot of money for the room and having a/c, this was awful as it would be inhumanly hot in the rooms - especially at night trying to sleep. Furthermore, the barking dogs was super annoying as they were aggressively barking all night…. Looking at the price paid and the overall experience I wouldn’t recommend this place.

It’s not the four season, but location, location, location!! Staff were amazing! If you like setting baby sea turtles free into the ocean, lying in hammocks right over the beach on the top deck, taking walks on the beach and surfing! I will go back!

This was our third time at Olas Permanentes, but our first time staying there as guests in a room. We come every year and enjoy their excellent food and drink at the beach, but usually returned to San Salvador in the evening. This time, we decided to book a room and it was definitely worth it. The weather wasn't playing nice for us unfortunately, but it was great to be able to wake up and enjoy an amazing breakfast at such a beautiful beach location. Of course, being able to pay in Bitcoin is a huge plus.

The shower was cold; the facilities were very basic. But neither of these is a huge negative - they're more or less expected for a small local room at what is largely a beachfront eatery/bar/event locale.

Good beachfront location. Staff were very helpful addressing our issues.

Shared bathroom was very dirty, staff did an awesome job addressing our concerns.

Location, food, AC, Stuff

the only thing i can mention is that there is no real place to hang up your wet stuff after surfing or swimming therefore during a busy weekend day our swimwear (bikini, boardshort, towels) got stolen…
