Hotel The Savode - Just 2 Mins From Golden Temple Amritsar

Very clean and an amazing shower powerful and hot. The location is about a 10 minute walk to the Temple. There are no windows in the room but this was not a problem. Staff very friendly. Breakfast choice was limited but nice. Breakfast served at the 5th floor restaurant, however no lunch or dinner served upstairs but you can have this in the cafe on the ground floor. The food was delicious.

Didn’t like the sound of the fan in the hallway at night as very loud in the bedroom, however asked the management to switch off which they did with no issues.

Stayed here for 4 nights and explored Amritsar from here. The staff is great, friendly, welcoming and helpful, they were kind enough to let us in our room early after an overnight train to get there. The room is nicely decorated and very clean, the aircon and heating worked well. The bed was comfy, a little softer than many in India. And there are quite a few sockets for use, unusual! Wifi was mostly ok, we were on the 4th floor, but occasionally dropped out. Breakfast on the 5th floor was very nice, with fresh fruit, Dahl, veg curry, breads and Poha, along with juice and masala tea, omelette if requested. Plus toast and jams. The hotel arranged taxis at reasonable cost with Sardar Tours and Travel. The shower is very powerful and great. There's an ATM machine at SBI within 5 minutes walk and it is only 10 minutes walking to the Golden Temple, the Partition Museum and Jallianwala Bagh. The area outside the hotel doesn't look great but we recommend it and would definitely return here, if coming back to Amritsar.

The room would benefit with some hooks and places to hang items. The bathroom has no window, and could do with a few more hooks,

the breakfast menu was good & the location was excellent. the area was not clean & the roads were littered with muck.

the room size could have been better. however, looking at the location i think it was pretty good.

Clean rooms. Easy access to various locations.

Expensive food. Very noisy throughout the night.

Extremely close to Golden Temple

Great location close to the golden temple.

Traffic is heavy in area. But it is worth it 😁.
