Crown and Anchor Inn

Extremely spacious and comfortable room with interesting feature wallpaper on one wall. Bathroom with a window, which is often rare. Food very good, though breakfast a bit limited, no fruit for example. Staff were superb, cheery, efficient and chatty. Very quiet situation, such that I overslept on my first night! Not by the Loch but only a 20m or so walk.

Hot water took a while to come through, but it's an old building and I was warned. Basin in my room needed a plumbers attention as it often ran out slowly and plug did not work properly. Minor faults and perfectly liveable with.

Great location and the staff are wonderful. Food is really good and the bar is good craic. Pets being welcome is an added bonus.

Great location in Findhorn, friendly well trained staff, great food.

Basic older style room with sink in the room and shower in the closet (but I guess it's a limited option for such an old building). Clean though, but could maybe be updated.

They let me leave my car there for 3 days which was very kind as I was doing a walk.

Shower could have been warmer and more powerful, but not a big issue.

Very comfy bed (room 8). Very clean throughout the premises. Surprisingly peaceful, given the room was above the bar. Fantastic seafood platter for dinner. There were limited breakfast options, but what we had was delicious (bacon-and-eggs, and kippers with scrambled eggs). Parking was possible at the rear of the hotel. The staff were very nice and friendly. We were impressed that one woman from the bar was outside the inn on her morning off, helping other volunteers to fill planters with flowers - dedication!

The pub is very dog-friendly, which will suit many people, but it depends on how well the owners keep their dog to their own table. We had a dog wander up and try to eat from our table at lunchtime. The staff did try to find the owner, however.
