Hotel Il Castello

This 'quaint' hotel is situated just around the corner from the ' funicolare' at Borgo Alto, Certaldo. It really is a nice place, the room was cosy enough, no issues with facilities therein and the breakfast in the morning was good. THE best thing about the place ...... the garden, with a great panoramic view. Fantastic space.

There was only one young lady manning the reception and bar upon arrival, so I had to wait until she'd finished serving drinks before she gave me the room key, then pointed up the stairs. The same for check-out, a young lady alone coping with breakfasts and reception. Also, after a walk, I returned to the hotel to have a drink in the lovely garden, to find that the bar had closed ( 9pm ) !

Excellent boutique hotel located on top of a hill in Certaldo. The view from our window was gorgeous.

Absolute hidden gem, close to Florence in a beautiful town. I would advise contacting the property as you arrive, as it was not easy to reach via google maps and the host was very helpful in directing us on where to go to park our car. The room itself was very clean, had great character and was so quiet even though we were in the main part of the town. We took the funicular down to eat for the evening which was so close to the hotel and very convenient. The hotel bar had a jazz event which seemed popular. In the morning, breakfast was a simple spread but did the trick. Would certainly recommend.

The bed was quite hard for our preference, but we know this is personal.

Staff, beauty of the location, great food in restaurant.

No thermostat in our room for A/C adjustment.

Everything was nice and sweet, making you feel melt inside the overall old town atmosphere. Location just perfect
