Eka's Bungalows

The view is good.

They don’t have fan or aircond in room.. the road not easy to find.

Zero staff, photos did not show reality, accommodation was unclean, bed linen old, toilet paper missing, roof over shower was collapsing, water only cold, not swept.Maybe not all their bungalows look like that, but anyway, we were very unlucky.

The food was great

No parking area for car

Eka and the staff made our stay at Eka's bungalows a highlight of our time spent in Indonesia. A quiet, relaxed lakeside location a few minutes from the friendly 'town' centre with a restaurant, scooter and bike rental available. A rustic stay in a natural environment that we thoroughly enjoyed (extended our stay).

I love the scenery of Tasik Maninjau in front of the homestay. Less than 10 steps and there is one of the most historic lake in Padang. Its very cold at night and early morning. Maybe thats the reason there’s no AC or even a fan inside the room. However,i think we need a fan inside for a ventilation. The bathroom is decent. There’s no nearby restaurant so you need to talk a walk to the main road,but thats not a problem. The people are friendly but the staring is there from the local. I think they stare a lot to the tourists :p Above all,nothing can beat the beautiful scenery of Tasik Maninjau.

The lake is beautiful and deserves more visitors. Visit Lake Maninjau but do not stay at Eka's Bungalow.

This was the worst hospitality I have experienced in a long time. When we arrived the owner(?) spoke 3 words to us, directed us to the bungalow and walked off. That was the extent of any interaction until he asked for payment of the bill. We would have appreciated information about breakfast, the local area, hiring bikes/ canoes/ SUPs, wifi passwords, local attractions, tours and transport. We got nothing. The bungalow was VERY basic and the 2nd bed had no mosquito net. There were ants and spiders on the bed, lizards hornets and mosquitoes in the room. The lack of a mosquito net was not acceptable. There is a dangerous hole at the stairs to the upper bedroom. The bikes, that I assume you could hire, looked in poor condition with no tread. There are feral cats on the property. Do not stay at Muaro Beach/ Eka's Bungalow.
