Schon beim Betreten des Hotels war der erste Eindruck schockierend: Ein winziger Käfig mit einem eingesperrten Vogel, der offenbar nur zur Unterhaltung der chinesischen Gäste diente. Der Käfig enthielt nichts außer einer Stange – einfach nur grausam und völlig unangebracht. • Die Gästestruktur ist extrem einseitig. Als Europäer fühlt man sich hier absolut fehl am Platz. Die Masse an chinesischen Gästen war überwältigend, das Verhalten beim Essen teilweise erschreckend: über den Tisch gespuckt, lebende Krabben und Hummer zubereitet und direkt verzehrt. Gerülpst und Laut geschmatzt. • Das Frühstück war ausschließlich auf asiatische Gäste ausgelegt – außer Toast gab es nichts weiteres. Man merkt klar, dass westliche Gäste hier keine Rolle spielen. Man wird regelrecht von den anderen Gästen schräg angeschaut und fühlt sich nicht willkommen. • Die Sauberkeit im gesamten Hotel war mangelnd. Viele Kakerlaken und anderes Ungeziefer, unsaubere Zimmer und ein insgesamt sehr unhygienischer Eindruck. • Die Ausstattung der Zimmer war mangelhaft: keine Ablagemöglichkeiten für Koffer, Taschen oder Hosen. Alles musste auf dem Boden liegen. • Duschen war mit einem so leichten Duschstrahl möglich dass die Haare erst nach 2 Minuten nass waren. Kein Druck, wenig Warmwasser —> Preis-Leistung war eine absolute Katastrophe. Wir sind viel gereist, auch in sehr einfachen Unterkünften, und haben daher keine hohen Ansprüche. Aber was wir hier für den gezahlten Preis bekommen haben, war schlicht inakzeptabel.
ESThe resort is in a beautiful, peaceful spot surrounded by nature, which feels like such a nice escape from the busy town. The free hourly shuttles made it really easy to get in and out of Semporna, and arranging pickup through WhatsApp was super convenient. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and far enough from the dining area that we couldn’t hear the karaoke at night. Speaking of which, the karaoke was actually a lot of fun when we joined in and made it easy to meet other guests. Breakfast and dinner were both very tasty, and on our last day the manager thoughtfully packed us an early breakfast with coffee, toast, jam, bananas, biscuits, crackers, and more, which was such a nice touch.
Nothing really. Maybe I would add a few more sweet options for breakfast.
FRChambre moderne, propre et spacieuse. L'hôtel était calme et un peu excentré de Semporna. Navette gratuite pour aller/retour au port. Machine à laver à disposition avec lessive gratuite. Restaurant dans l'hôtel très bon et peu chère Petit déjeuner continental avec beaucoup de choix.

CNI would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to Tony，the manager of The Firefly Resort Semporna. Tony is not only warm and hospitable but also arranged transportation for us to the town and the airport, which was incredibly thoughtful! Additionally, I appreciate his help in fixing the wheels on our luggage, resolving our concerns. I would also like to extend a special thanks to the Malay lady at the front desk who speaks Chinese. Her presence made us feel very warm and welcomed. Every interaction with her was a comfort. Moreover, I want to thank manager Daniel for personally driving us to the clinic at night, showing great concern for our health. His arrangements for deep-sea fishing and recommendations for delicious restaurants and hiking trails enriched our trip immensely. Of course, I must also thank the chef at Firefly and the enthusiastic young waiter in the restaurant, whose warm service made our dining experience delightful. Lastly, the professionalism of the drivers ensured our travels were safe and comfortable. If I return to Semporna, it will certainly be because of their warmth and loyalty! Every moment spent here has brought me immense happiness. Thank you once again to everyone! I hope to see you all again on my next visit!
AUComfortable relaxed gardens style resort with super helpful and friendly staff who went out of their way to make sure we were okay. Thoughtful touches such as hairdryer, toothbrush kits etc provided. Relaxed lounge and dining area for guests to use with karaoke at night.
Breakfast for Westerners could have been a lot better with more provided. If you arrived towards the end of the breakfast time there was none left and kitchen was closed.

THAmazing value for money Wonderful staff- the general manager is incredible Food is absolutely delicious Open bar and restaurant area is great Monday night turned into karaoke with a really fun vibe and the owner giving us free drinks! Easy check in, check out, tour bookings and shuttle to Semporna
Breakfast could have more variety Shame that the restaurant is only open in the evening!
