TORTUGA BAY Eco Hotel

Staff is super nice, food is good, staying at playa Cuevita is a good place to watch whales from the hotel, we definitely will be back

Hotel is not that close from the airport (Bahía Solano), it's around 40 min away by motocycle

Lovely accommodation on a huge beach isolated from the world, a paradise

All was perfect

We had an incredible experience in this ecolodge, immersed in nature, away from people, facing the ocean and in a very comfortable room. Thanks to Elias for the wonderful welcome, to William for the impeccable organization and to Piiao, thank you for taking us to these sublime wild beaches, waterfalls, natural pools, jungles and thank you for your smile and your good mood.

The location is amazing. The kitchen team lovely and food really good. Really like the approach of owners as well, ready to help in case any issue arise. William is a nice host, friendly and always available for any needs. Nice rooms. Note for digital nomads: Good internet and good place to work

The biggest issue I saw is that there is no "eco-sustainability" for what I could see. Place is a paradise but garbage keeps accumulating without proper system to deal with it, no water refill. This also reflects in one of the host that was all but sensitive to "eco-friendly" topic and once even throwing a plastic stick on the ground in front of me. If you want to protect paradises this is not the right approach in my opinion.

We did a tour to Utria National park. My expectation was entering the jungle with a nature guide to look for local animals. Instead we went on a beach tour. So be sure you explaine correctly what you expect to get the right tour. The other morning we went alone on a little path behind the hotel and managed to see a group of monkeys. So there are wild animals around. For the locals they are just so normal, they don't mention them. Among the local birds are also eagles. Same thing, locals won't mention them as special, as the are regularly seen.

When you go there, keep in mind, you are far away from any bigger city, so the travel to the hotel is a little adventures, but worth it. And food is served, what there is the day. So no huge selection possible. But try the local house made lemonade. It is delicious. If you want more than one glass, tell the owner the day before, so they prepare enough.

Room was realy nice, they have good internet when there is an electricity. We could pay by card at the hotel.

If electricity is gone which seems to be happening quite frequently in that area, there is no water in the bathroom.

Beautiful location. Staff are very welcoming and helpful. Clean and beautiful accomodation.

We think it's over priced. And being in such a beautiful remote location, you would expect them to provide free drinking water. However you have to buy bottled water - which is likely not recycled here as they lack the infrastructure. All they need is a filter, so customers can fill their bottles.

The place is very nice, the staff is super friendly and attentive, everything is clean and modern, high quality beds, linings,etc. The beach is awesome, it's near playa cuevita and Utria, food is available on premises and they always help with transportation to and from town as well as with setting up tours.

Water is not drinkable so one must buy bottles, electricity and water supply was intermittent during our stay but it was understandable because we had several consecutive rainy days and they use solar energy for everything, so it was not a big deal, just something to be aware of.
