D' Art VILLA RETREAT AND SPA

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the unique D’Art Villa in the penthouse. Amazing space, luxury throughout, and every need taken care of by the fabulous staff team. More than a hotel, this boutique villa exudes style and attention to detail. Based in the countryside it’s lovely to just walk out of the door and be surrounded by stunning scenery, bird and wildlife. A sanctuary perfect to relax, unwind and be pampered. We definitely will recommend and hope to visit ourselves again soon.

A little slice of heaven , peaceful, relaxing , excellent staff , food and a wonderful massage . The art and decor are beautiful , a gem in the middle of nature yet only 10 minutes by tuk tuk to surrounding area and beaches

We can’t thank George and Suresh enough, they are both amazing. Food was delicious, clear communication when organising day trips and massages. The villa has 5 bedrooms and we were upgraded to the penthouse which was huge! Whilst all 5 bedrooms are in the bedroom, you feel like you have your own private space. Beautifully designed by Martyn Dempsey. 2/3 days is perfect here.

Slight issue with the fuse, but no real issues.

D’Art Villa is stunning in every way. The design and build is immaculate, both imaginative and sophisticated yet very comfortable. The open design allows the surrounding nature to come inside (not in an intrusive way). The pool is lovely. The food is superb and is prepared from fresh in the open kitchen. George and Suresh and their team go out of their way to make you feel welcome and to provide anything needed without being intrusive. They are true heroes of hospitality! The property is a few kilometres from Tangalle and the beach (a short tuk tuk ride), but it’s rural location allows for memorable walks observing the local human and animal population (the variety of bird life in the surrounding area is amazing). Our stay was the absolute highlight of our trip and we would love to return some day.

Everything was perfect

This property was amazing. Suresh was my point of contact at the property and he answered all of my questions prior to arrival promptly. Upon arrival I had the pleasure of meeting him and his staff. They could not have been more gracious and helpful. Everything about this property was exceptional the pictures do not do it justice. I would highly recommend staying here. It is only five rooms and I am hoping to return and rent it for my family. It was a high light of our two week stay in Sri lanka.

The property is beautiful and so peaceful. The design is very chic but homely and cosy. The staff were exceptional and George, the manager is an asset to this hotel.

The stay at D'Art was magnificent and it far exceeded our expectations. The hotel itself is beautifully designed and very unique. The staff- George, Suresh and their team went above and beyond to ensure we had a relaxing time. The hotel only has five rooms so it is not oversubscribed (one of the best parts). It really feels like you have your own space and can relax with all the personal touches. The food was excellent, freshly cooked in front of you in the incredible kitchen . The rooms were excellent, comfortable beds and pillows, and the biggest bath I've ever had. The pool was lovely, clean and perfect temperature. Don't be put off by the fact that this isn't overlooking the coast, all of the local beaches are extremely accessible Many thanks to all the staff for looking after us so well. Best, Will and Louisa

We loved D’art Villa- it was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the local beaches in Tangalle after a busy few weeks exploring other areas of Sri Lanka. The room was clean, comfortable and quirky. The staff restock water and tea/coffee as needed each day. They will also clean the room and replace towels if needed. Breakfast was so lovely and we took advantage of a cooked evening meal by the onsite cook, which was perfect! We felt like we had such a special time throughout, and the whole team were on hand to help, assist, advise and chat. Such a friendly, welcoming and warm welcome and stay throughout. The pool is also beautiful, as is the whole villa, there are many different seating areas and the relaxing music playing quietly throughout the day creates the perfect atmosphere. The staff are amazing! I struggled with WiFi for work as the Villa is a little further back from the beach (10 min drive). When I mentioned this to George, he & Suresh arranged and installed a booster for the room within a couple of hours and it worked perfectly! Tangalle is a short tuktuk drive away, but the guys at the villa will ring and sort this for you as and when needed. The staff team are all amazing, and you were all definitely the cherry on top of our stay- you made our stay a beautiful one. Thank you once again- we hope to return in the future!

So far the best property during our stay in Sri Lanka with delicious breakfast and various tasty dinner options. They can also prepare vegetarian options which for us was a bliss. The staff were really nice and the vibe of the place is perfect! I would definitely come back to the same place!
