Hotel Babylon

We were unsure of our stay after reading previous reviews, but glad now we ignored them. Firstly updated with an early check in as received an email to say our room was ready, lovely warm welcome from the young gentleman on reception who provided us with all the info, our room was number 12 on the upper floor couldnt fault it clean,warm, comfy bed, and everything was in the right place loved that sockets were near mirrors for hairdryers etc, even robes provided that were cozy. Obv the deco bit dated in areas (where isnt in blackpool) but clean and presentable throughout. Breakfast was random says the hubby but I enjoyed it toast, egg, cheese, croissants with all condiments great coffee - maxwell house mmmm even a fairy cake. Was in a great position and a car park availble right across we had a lovely stay, thank you.

Ozzy was so friendly & accomodating. Room was very clean & comfortable. Close to central Blackpool & the beach. Breakfast was great- large continental plate with bread, cheese, croissant, jams etc

It was like an old museum, quirky but very damp, we had no heating in our room( the one on the photo) we were in bed fully clothed it was so cold its not even a 2 star never mind a 5 star Booked it as it said beautiful breakfast full English, it was a cold miss mash of boiled egg plastic cheese salad and toast the dining room was colder than the bedroom other guests there were eating ( or not eating) with coats on We all went out for breakfast

Totally mis-represented on booking.com; Their description of a 5* world class service would be laughable if I hadn't spent hundreds of pounds on this scam establishment (not to mention the spoiling effect on the weekend that my family and I had been looking forward to). When we arrived the "manager/host" explained in broken English that there was no cooked food. He didn't mention that the heating also was not working anywhere in the hotel - which might have explained why he needed a hoodie pulled up around his face. The rooms were dated and barely fit for purpose, the a-la-cart breakfast was non-existent and the plated "continental" which included a microwaved croissant and slices of cucumber was terrible. Other low-lights include a tiny double room - with scarcely room to walk around the bed, a tv that would not switch on and a bar with the lights all turned off that never opened. Key complaints - No cooked breakfast - and what continent the "continental breakfast" was based - I have no idea. - No heating (In Blackpool in October) - the whole hotel was freezing cold. - Tiny double room - TV not working - Generally dilapidated and poorly maintained. I've uploaded photos to help set the scene - including - The "double room" - The 5* a-la-carte breakfast - The reception desk as it appeared most of the time - The en-suite and luxury shower.

People are friendly and very clean

TV didn't have any Channels unless you login or registered with the relevant App, Netflix, ITVX etc. Bed was very small despite being a Double.. Shower cubicle floor dirty Hot water takes ages to come through. 3 Lamps in room didn't work Breakfast was a very poor Continental - no cooked breakfast!!! Cold Toast, sliced cucumber, sliced tomato, Aldi Cheese and croissant, boiled egg cut in half, jam and butter. Milk served in a Tea Pot and Jug of Hot Water for Tea and Coffee. Place was empty apart from Us!

This is not a 5 star or even 4 star for that matter .On arrival we were told they were no longer doing cooked breakfast something to which we paid for.We got the key to our room upon entering the room it was a tiny box room with dirt marks on the walls, the carpet was frayed in places, the window sill had never seen a a quick dust. Upon further investigation the ridicoluos amount of pictures on the walls were actually covering up holes in the walls. The shower room was no bigger than a tiny cupboard to which you had to squeeze yourself around the door to sit on the toilet to which then your legs are resting on the shower wall. The toilet seat did not stay up to my husbands annoyance, the lino had black sticky residue all over and was split and up lifting to which could potentially cut your feet or cause a trip hazard. I went down to complain however there was nobody on reception. Later that evening a wire dangling from the hotel ariel constantly smashed into the window this was extremely loud and fritening as it honestly sounded each time like the window was going to smash.we did not get an ounce of sleep. We went down to reception in the morning to complain as this is not what we paid for nor should they be charging these prices for such a run down tiny room. I told the guy on reception we had a 3 hour drive home and we were exhausted this was not exceptable. His reply was i will let the owner know, i asked for a refund even if its just partial to compenstate for the horrific room and service received again he said he would speak to the owner and let me know. No communication has been recived from the hotel so i complained to booking.com ,the hotel have refused an apology along with any sort of refund. I will now be claiming the money back through my bank. The photos of this hotel on booking.com look lovely however do not be fooled by them, there are much nicer hotels on the same street that i would class as a higher star rating at less money.

Overwhelming smell of grease throughout, very tired rooms, bed uncomfortable, room too hot at night and window didn’t open.
