Villa Vager Mani Hotel

An amazing stay with sea view, quite and only 5min drive from Sandova beach. It is located in a small traditional village with 3 taverns 1 min walking from the hotel. Very important tip high speed internet for those who need to work I will come back for sure

We booked this hotel having stayed at the sister property in Levidi in June 2017, see my review. This hotel is a different experience. The location is lovely with views over the sea. It is convenient for Kalamata and about a 30 drive to Kardamyli. The village it is in has a couple of tavernas and churches but no other facilities. It is is a 5 minute drive to a nice beach. The hotel is in a renovated tower and a lot of care has been put into the work. The four bedrooms are all separate with their own external space. There are no public areas, or none that we were shown and not even clear where reception is. We had the Boho room which is nicely decorated if minimalist in style. A very large comfortable bed with high quality linens. good air conditioning. It was odd there was little storage. There is a large wardrobe but no shelf space and very small set of drawers so we had to leave our possessions on the spare beds in the second bedroom. The bathroom had a shower with an apparent missing sliding door and a shower head which would not stay in place, sliding down the pole. The toilet seat lid was cracked. Good towels and high quality toiletries and plenty of hot water. No bathrobes. The outdoor terrace was lovely but insufficient shade in the afternoon, some additional screening would be helpful. Very nice breakfast served at your convenience on the terrace. Servicing of room was on request rather than automatic. Strong free WiFi. Overall it was good and we enjoyed ourselves but let down by some details. On a scale of 10 I would rate it 7 so on TA’s scale I have rounded up to 4.

Villa Vager Mani is ideally located in the outskirts of Kalamata and it is the perfect base to visit Mystras, the Gulf of Navarino, ancient Olympia and the Mani paninsula. Far from the hustle and bustle of the city, it is in a beautiful authentic village in Megali Mantinia (the gate to Mani), so you can also enjoy a nice evening stroll that ends up in one of the best taverns in the Peloponnese. Ideal for slow travelers and for those who pay attention to details.

Good taste in a recently renovated historic building, very generous space, clean, in harmony with nature, excellent breakfast, all in one place at Villa Vager Mani. Impeccable service and the hosts discreet but present as many times as necessary. An unmissable experience.

A complete gem! The pictures don’t do justice to the facilities or views. Tucked into the side of a mountain within a local village-we weren’t sure what to expect when we first arrived. We were thoroughly impressed with the gorgeously designed rooms and it was clear the owners have paid meticulous attention to the details…the Serta mattress, luxurious towels, stocked fridge, breakfast served to our patio….all with amazing service levels made it a hard place to leave! Highly recommend!

Stayed for 3 nights in this 19th century tower which has been restored with great attention to detail while preserving the historical nature of the listed building. Enjoyed the hospitality, spaciousness of our room, the privacy of our terrace and the views overlooking the Messinian Gulf. A 5 minute drive to Santova beach for an early morning or late evening swim and about 15 - 20 minute drive to Kalamata or picturesque Kardamyli. Overall a beautiful stay in the middle of August that felt like early June and made us further appreciate the peace and tranquility that Mani has to offer !

Our experience at Vila Vager Mani was just perfect. Starting with very welcoming and helpful Marina and her husband. The place is located in a very small and picturesque town. 360 view of mountains and sea. Idyllic scenario. A stone family house reconstructed and with a lovely interior design. A balcony that where we spent our mornings and evenings made our stay unforgettable. Finally, the breakfast met the high standards of every detail during our stay on this beautiful Villa.

I was so afraid about going on vacation this COVID year, but when I entered the hotels entrance and met this beautiful couple Nikolas and Marina my worries disappeared. I felt like we were part of their family. Greek hospitality. Everything so clean and sanitized. We had the jungle Suite ideal for my kids because it was on the ground floor-no stairs- Looking forward to visit you again

Beautiful hotel in a great location. The building has been beautifully renovated. The hosts are lovely. The breakfast is served at your veranda everyday and is lovely. Fresh fruit, pastry, juice and coffee. The beach is just 5 minutes away. I highly recommend it!
